If you’re looking for quick access to New York City in a relaxed and eclectic neighborhood, this furnished one bedroom at 48th Street and Skillman Avenue in Sunnyside, Queens is the perfect fit. Your apartment is located on the 3rd floor (considered the 2nd by Europeans), and the building offers 24 hour video surveillance and a buzzer system with intercom for your security.
Please note that this is a railroad apartment. Bedroom 1 is only accessible by walking through Living Room 2 (see floor plan).
As you walk into this apartment, you’ll be greeted by hardwood floors and natural light. The living room includes a television, along with a double-sized futon couch. In the kitchen you’ll have everything you need to cook, from pots and pans to a great selection of appliances, and there is ample counter space for preparing meals. The kitchen is eat-in and features a dining table that seats four. Living Room 2 has two single-sized beds. Bedroom 1 features a double-sized bed a closet for storage space. The bathroom features a full tub with shower.
There are many advantages to living in Sunnyside. Queens Boulevard, a few blocks away, is the neighborhood’s commercial hub, with a wide variety of restaurants and shops to choose from. At 46th Street next to the train station there is a cluster of businesses that are open 24 hours, including a grocery store, pharmacy, produce stand, and taco truck. A great place to have breakfast on the weekends is The Haab Café, located on 48th Avenue, a pleasant walk from your apartment, although there are many other choices, especially on Skillman Avenue, where you’ll find a Farmer’s Market opposite the park on 43rd Street on Saturdays.
Your apartment is a short distance from the 7 train at 52nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue, which will take you to the Grand Central, Bryant Park, and Times Square stops in Midtown where you can transfer to many trains with destinations across NYC. The 7 train also runs to several neighborhoods in Queens where you can try variety of ethnic foods, and runs to Long Island City, which has some great parks and museums to visit.

We were a 20-minute subway ride from Times Square. This apartment is a good value for money. The owner was responsive when we had some issues in the apartment, so I highly recommend it. The Sunnyside area is also very pleasant with all the nearby stores. |
