Neighborhood:
This apartment is located in a lively "cour" (passageway) of the picturesque neighborhood of Bonne-Nouvelle/ Strasbourg-Saint Denis. It offers the opportunity to discover the Grands Boulevards (composed of boulevards named de la Madeleine, des Italiens, St-Martin, des Capucines, Montmartre, Poissonnière, St-Denis, Bonne-Nouvelle), where there are major department stores, cinemas and restaurants and, a short distance away, the Opera Garnier.
But it is also one of those traditional, popular districts of Paris, where one can find a great mix of communities and cultures, such as the Passage Brady, with all its Indian restaurants, the famous jazz club, The New Morning, the Brazilian cabaret, Les Etoiles, African beauty salons and lots of lovely passageways.
It is also a very short distance from two train stations, Gare de l'est and Gare du nord and the place de la République. It is very convenient to get to Chatelet and the Left Bank by subway as well.
The Cours des Petites Ecuries has restaurants, shops and cafés and is quiet.
Premises:
This 34m² (approx. 360 sq. ft.) studio apartment is located on the first floor (second in the USA) of a 19th century walk-up building. A coded security system protects the main entrance gate, which opens onto a courtyard leading to the building. This apartment has a northeastern exposure.
Layout:

Jean was a great renter, she kept the place clean and always paid her rent on time. I would recommend her for other rentals. |
