Paris in Song
“Paris – Picture Perfect”
But when I get to Paris we’ll paint all our portraits
In brush-strokes of yellow and christen the canvas
These lyrics are from the song “Paris”, written by the legendary writing duo of Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and included on John’s 1986 album “Leather Jackets”.
The lyrics underscore one of the most famous and enduring aspects of Parisian culture that has lured visitors throughout the years: its art. Home to some of the world’s most prominent museums, not to mention many of history’s greatest artists, Paris is a must destination for both the passionate and the casual art lover.
But there can be difficulties in getting to see all the artistic sites you want to take in during your Paris vacation. First, there is the cost. Individual museum admissions can add up. And then there is the time. These are hugely popular attractions. Do you really want to spend a good deal of your time waiting on lines?
Fortunately, there’s a great way to ensure that you can enjoy all the museums in an affordable and efficient way during your stay in one of our vacation rentals in Paris. “The Paris Museum Pass”, available from official dealers like La Conciergerie and you will gain access to more than 70 museums and monuments throughout the Paris region. These include the Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, Arc de Triumph, Chateau de Versaille and many more. (for a complete list of participating venues and pass prices check out the websites)
The passes are available for either 2 consecutive days or 4 consecutive days. During those days, you have unlimited access to all 70+ attractions. And best of all, there is no waiting. The pass gets you direct entry and so you can bypass the lines and walk right in. The passes can be ordered online in advance of your trip. So when you arrive at one of our great Paris apartments, vacation rentals or bed and breakfasts, you won’t have to worry. The pass can be sent to your destination in advance so it’s already there when you arrive.
So indulge the artist within and take advantage of a chance to see some of the world’s greatest art. You might even be inspired to take an easel out in front of the Eiffel Tower and start a new career!
If your accommodations allow you to walk by the Louvre frequently during your stay in Paris, I highly recommend waiting to go in until you see minimal or no lines. I waited it out because I walked by it every day. One day, a Monday morning, I saw no line and was able to go right in. It was glorious.
On the other hand, I waited in a fairly long line to enter the Musee d’Orsay and had some good conversation with other tourists.
Choose your pleasure!
Oh yeah the museum pass what a great way to visit museums! You can choose between 2 or 3 options (From what I can remember) and you avoid the long lines at each entrance. You can also take a subway pass this can also help you a lot!!!
