Memories of science class often evoke images of drab lab coats and maladroit frog dissections. As adults, many of us move through life enjoying the technological and scientific advances without appreciating the ubiquitous role science plays in our lives, and maybe those boring science classes have something to do with that. While it’s still easy to forget just how fascinating science can be, the New York Hall of Science presents ideas and theories in a way that children won’t soon forget. The Hall’s situated a quick subway ride from New York Habitat’s Manhattan apartments in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens.
The New York Hall of Science is a leading innovator in exhibit technology and educational programming. The Hall’s approach focuses on drawing children to exhibits with engaging topics and then getting them really interested by allowing them to touch, feel and experience the scientific or technological issues being explored. The Hall features the largest selection of interactive exhibits in the entire city and this spring ushers yet another round of dissection-free science experiments.

I’ve never been to the New York Hall of Science only the museum of Natural History but it seems like a really cool place. I didn’t think there was much in Corona, but it looks like there is lots to do and also nice apartments.
You always hear about the Museum of Natural History and the MoMA, and about a lot of the “touristy” places in New York City, but it is great to read a little about this Hall of Science. I have never heard of it, but it sounds fascinating and I will definitely be taking the kids there when we are renting our apartment in the city in August.
On my many vacation to New York City my friends always refused to take me out to Queens, stating that it is an entire other country that you need a special visa for. So, they parade me back and forth to the other museum in Mahattan. Well, this time I found a secret in Queens and I’m sure my sons and I will be venturing out to Corona to visit The New York Hall Of Science. They are very excited and can’t wait to take a train out to that other country, Queens.
I know Queens, and especially Flushing sometime seems far outside of New York City, but my apartment is in Queens and it really is not a long commute at all, and it is worth it to visit the Hall of Science!
Me too Ian,never knew anything about that Museum,But definetly will try and stop by to learn new stuff.
I personally love the New York Hall of Science, it’s one of my favorite places to visit when I vacation in New York City. It’s fun and eductaional, my children love it. Keep me posted New York Habitat I’m anxiously anticipating the rest of your list.
