World-famous for its prestigious film festival in May, Cannes does not rest on its laurels the rest of the year and keeps all kinds of events going in its beautiful setting. If you nursed sky-high celebrity chef or rock star dreams growing up, but then had to get a real life like the rest of us, there is still an opportunity for you to rub elbows with those who made it big, sometimes even very big, in those fascinating fields – and to mingle with other industry players as well – in January 2011 when the Cooking Festival (January 15-16) for the food lovers and the MIDEM (January 22-26) for the music lovers take place in Cannes.
If you want a chance to do some actual business with any of the professionals in attendance, you will need to fork out some serious cash for the registration, but if all you want is to revel in the fun atmosphere and maybe catch a glimpse of an old idol of yours at a local bar or restaurant, a Cannes accommodation from New York Habitat is a good way to start. Hopefully serendipity will do the rest.
Slightly further out, about 10-15 minutes west from all the action and near the harbor, we also have a vacation retnal, sun-filled studio – Cannes – Le Suquet, French Riviera – PR 289 in the historic district of le Suquet. Its best feature is no doubt the balcony on which you can enjoy leisurely breakfasts and dinners overlooking the scintillating Mediterranean and the Lérins Islands.
If you prefer the joys of nature to the non-stop madness of large gatherings, try our large fully furnished studio – Cannes – Basse Californie –PR175 on the outskirts of the city. It is part of a 19th century building proudly standing amidst a luxuriant garden and offers fantastic views over the sea and the bay of Cannes.
And there are many, many more accommodations to choose from, so why don’t you go ahead and start planning a quick winter gateway to one of the most attractive places on earth? Have you ever been there for any event, or even just to chill? What did you think of Cannes?
