This fully furnished bedroom for rent is in a shared 2-bedroom apartment located in Astoria, a neighborhood in Queens, New York. The apartment is on the top floor of a 2-story walk-up building.
The bedroom to rent is fully equipped and includes a full sized futon bed, a desk, a closet and a television with cable access. Air conditioning is available to cool the room. The window has eastern exposure, allowing in natural light and overlooking a neighboring garden and parking lot.
The kitchen area is shared. It is equipped with a small dining table, a stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster. There are plenty of pots, pans, dishes and utensils available.
The bathroom is also shared and includes a tub/shower, w/c and sink with mirrored medicine cabinet.
The apartment offers WIFI internet connection.
This room for rent is located on 31st Street in Astoria, a part of Queens, New York. There is playground with athletic courts less than a half block away, and Astoria Park, which has a track and swimming pool, lying next to the East River, is within walking distance, about 9 blocks away. Down 31st Street, you will find Neptune Diner, known for their casual Greek-American fare, and around the corner on 24th Avenue there are a variety of other restaurants. There is also the convenience of a laundromat less than a block from the apartment.
Public transportation is especially convenient to this rental, with the N/Q lines running from the subway station a little over one block away. Midtown Manhattan is only 6 subway stops away, allowing you to connect easily to the other boroughs of New York City.
Please note that the proximity of the public transportation can create some noise at times.

Hi Vanessa, I am sorry you had trouble sleeping. It is true that being near the train has both its pros and cons. It can get noisy sometimes, but is extremely convenient when needing to get into the heart of Manhattan. I understand that New York, with all its noise and activities, can be a big change from someone from Switzerland and can take some getting used to. I hope that your stay was otherwise pleasant and fun. |

Apartment close to subway, its location may be a nuisance for the noise but is convenient and good for transportation; I felt very comfortable in this apartment and would be happy to go back. Same regarding the owner, very friendly, gave me lots of advice on places to visit and is very respectful for the comfort of his guests and so that everything runs smoothly during their stay. |

Thank you for your review. There is a train station about a block away from the apartment, which my guests generally find to be a convenience because it is quick access into the city. This is the first time anyone has been bothered by the noise. This is New York City, so noise is part of the city. I am however sorry that the noise was an inconvenience and I hope you had a pleasant trip |

THE APARTMENT WAS IMMACULATE AND VERY WELL LOCATED ON THE SAME STREET AS A TRAIN STATION. MY BED WAS COMFORTABLE AND THE GUY I SHARED IT WITH WAS NICE,QUIET,AND VERY ACCOMODATING. |
