This is a compact B & B bedroom in a classic Harlem brownstone building with seven bedrooms, perfect for tourists who are looking to spend their time exploring New York City instead of staying indoors! the small bedroom is on the top floor of this walk-up 4-story building (considered 3rd floor by Europeans), allowing it to benefit from natural light unobstructed by other buildings.
The bedroom measures 65 SQF (about 6 SQM) and is simply furnished, with a single size sleigh bed, a dresser with a small television on top, and a night table with a lamp. The large window overlooks a backyard garden area.
Outside this bedroom, there are other bedrooms on the floor which are also rented as B&Bs. Everyone on the floor shares the full bathroom, situated down the hall, and the kitchen, which has a full refrigerator, stove and microwave.
Please note that there are 2 cats that inhabit the apartment building.
Located on the historic landscape of Harlem in the northern part of Manhattan, the area surrounding this bed and breakfast is an excellent spot to start your sight-seeing! This brownstone is on 123rd Street & Frederick Douglas Boulevard, a lovely townhouse lined street. Apollo Theater, which launched the careers of artists like Billie Holiday, James Brown, Diana Ross and Lauryn Hill, is found just two streets north of this accommodation! The famous Central Park is just 3 subway stops to the south, but you also have Marcus Garvey Park with an outdoor public swimming pool 3 blocks to the east (about 600m), and Morningside Park with many trails to explore 3 blocks to the west (400m). If you walk down Lenox Avenue or Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard, you will find many great places to eat, from Starbucks to Red Rooster (famous for their take on Southern soul food).
Columbia University is also in the Harlem neighborhood, west of this rental, and has all the action and cultural events that a prestigious college can bring to the area. Additionally you will benefit from being situated between two major subway lines with local and express trains, making commuting around New York as flexible as possible! About 4 blocks northwest (400m), there is the A/B/C/D train station at 125th Street and Saint Nicholas, while 4 blocks northeast(approx. 600m), you will find the 2/3 station on Lenox and 125th. Either of these can connect you to Midtown Manhattan without any transfers!

Kind and helpful hostess but I think the bedroom is really tiny; and the sheets were a bit oldish and the radiator rusted. The neighborhood and the street are very, very quiet. |
