Enjoy living like a real Brooklyner in this bed and breakfast rental in Park Slope. The accommodation is in a two-bedroom duplex apartment occupying the first and second floors of a 4-level walk-up townhouse with a shared backyard. The townhouse, dating from the early 20th century, is a historic landmark building, maintained by an artist and in ongoing need of restoration; the part of the house that is rented is comfortable and has charm with high ceilings and antique mouldings, and is found less than half a block from Prospect Park!
This spacious (1000 SQF) duplex apartment has an entire floor for communal living and it is only when you reach the second floor that you can access the bedroom, giving you enough privacy and your own space. The available bedroom is on the 2nd level, with a window facing east towards the building's private backyard garden, away from the street. The room is comfortably furnished with all you need for relaxing, including a refrigerator. Many artistic ornaments compliment the classic interior, which includes a gorgeous decorative fireplace.
Down the hall is the shared bathroom, and downstairs you can watch TV in the living room or enjoy a meal in the dining room. From here you can access the outdoor terrace and garden, green and verdant in the summer.
Please Note: There is a cat in this apartment, cared for by the owner.
The owner, who occupies the second bedroom, is more than happy to provide you with maps, neighborhood tips or recommandations to facilitate your integration into the New York City experience.
Situated on 6th street in Park Slope, this bed and breakfast accommodation is almost next door to Prospect Park, a huge expanse with baseball fields, a butterfly meadow, jogging trails and more. Concerts are held here in the summer, and there is a Farmer's Market every Saturday. You will also have access in just 2 blocks to the main shopping street of this area, 7th Avenue. Here you'll find stores, delis and restaurants, both chains and local enterprises. If you are concerned about making your stay worthwile culturally, you will certainly appreciate the nearby Brooklyn Museum, second biggest art museum in New York City.
The closest train station is 3 blocks away and will give you access to the F and G lines. The F line will take you to Manhattan and other areas of Brooklyn, and the G runs north through the trendy Clinton Hill and Williamsburg neighborhoods to Queens.

Gorgeous early 20th Century house apparently in the condition it was left in 30 years ago. It is cluttered with a bunch of objects that hide its real luxury, which is a pity. Comfort is limited because of the outdated items. This probably explains the very low price for this rental. |

This Historical Victorian Limestone was built at the turn of the 19th century in a rather grand style, but after the great depression of the thirties and the years following, the house and the neighborhood in general fell into serious disrepair. |

My husband and me really loved to stay in this house. The landlady is a wonderful and very nice person who gives useful advise about exploring the city, where to shop and where to dine. |

I've really enjoyed meeting all the visitors that have passed through and I'm happy to share my space and knowledge (if it is asked for) of a city that I love and of which I have been a lifelong inhabitant. |

Both the house and the host are charming. If you enjoy a browstone full of relics, paintings and drawings, with a host who is an artist, full of life and curiosity, tolerance and humanism, filled with Park Slope's memory (the most beautiful neighborhood in BROOKLYN, together with other of course: Williamsburg, Brooklyn Heights... explore all these places with your camera in hand wherever the fancy takes you), so go for it, without fear... [Your host] will bend over backwards to make sure you feel home. |

This role as host to travelers is both interesting and ingratiating. I hope some of this enthusiasm rubs off on me. |

The room and the house have everything necessary to live for someone who does not expect much. The cleaning does not excel, the bathroom is not so great but the position is optimal, the area is calm and quiet. The park is very close as well as supermarkets and restaurants. The owner is very nice with an artistic temperament... and is often awake until late at night, but discreet... |

Thanks for these commentaries. Although a little disappointing, they are definitely helpful. |
