This unique and fully furnished one bedroom duplex is located on the first and second floors (ground and first floors for Europeans) of a historic Midtown East prewar walkup located at East 52nd Street and Second Avenue in New York City. The building is equipped with an intercom system for your security, and the apartment is opened with a key code combination.
You enter the apartment through the eat-in kitchen, where you’ll find seating in addition to the expected appliances and everything else you’ll need to cook. This area opens into the living room, a great place to recharge at the end of the day. The furniture includes a sofa and an armchair, as well as a dining room set. The one bedroom has two bathrooms, one on this floor and one on the bottom floor. They both offer bathtubs with showers and a WC, eliminating conflict and making sure everyone gets to where they need to go on time.
Downstairs there is a commodious bedroom with two beds, a king sized bed and a double futon bed. A television with cable is provided, and there is plenty of room for storage, with dressers and a walk-in closet available that opens into the downstairs bathroom. From the bedroom you’ll also be able to access the apartment’s garden. Please note the floors in some of the units in this building have a minor slant and that the heating system is radiator steam which can cause loud clanging when in use during the cold season.
One of Manhattan’s most popular residential neighborhoods, Midtown East is one of the more convenient areas in NYC with quick access to many of New York’s most famous attractions and in close proximity to the United Nations. The area also has plenty of shopping and dining, with several of the city’s most celebrated restaurants nearby. Try the famous tasting menu at Aemma a couple of blocks away. Nightlife is also abundant with a good selection of bars and clubs in the area.
The subway is also a short distance away. The E and M trains stop at 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue, less than 2 blocks (about 300 meters) away, and provide service across Manhattan and to Brooklyn and Queens. The 6 train at 51st Street and Lexington Avenue makes stops along the east side of Manhattan.

Had a wonderful 2 month stay here, apartment manager responsive and easy to deal with. Tons of space and storage, private back garden a bonus. Quiet and safe area. |
