These basic studio apartments are located in Manhattan’s residential Upper West Side community. Away from the touristy streets of Midtown, this location is just down the street from Central Park, and offers a variety of public transit options, easily taking you all over New York City!

Situated on West 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, the basic studios are located in a 6-story prewar walk-up building (be aware that the staircase is considered steep by some). Please Note: There is a bar on the ground floor of this building, which may be noisy.

The charming home presents hardwood floors, mismatched furniture, and may include exposed brick wall for a touch of old New York. Amenities include a double or queen bed, television with basic cable, and some essential cooking appliances (mini-fridge, toaster, coffeemaker, and hot plates). No formal kitchen is included. Internet is available. The bathroom provides a toilet, sink and shower.

Please Note: Each studio looks different, views and sizes vary.

This apartment in New York’s Upper West Side is ideally located between the Hudson River Greenway and Central Park. Nearby the “museum mile” of 5th Avenue, it is close to a hub of important cultural institutions and shops, and is walking distance from at least 5 separate subway lines. All basic living facilities are within walking distance. Listed below are some suggestions of where to go in the neighborhood.

  • American Museum of Natural History: This impressive natural history museum (the largest in the world!) features over 30 million natural artifacts. 0.2mi/400m. Accessible via foot.
  • Strawberry Fields in Central Park: Located in central park, this homage to John Lennon is located near his former residence, The Dakota, where he was fatally shot. Be sure to visit on the day of his birth or death when people from all over the world gather to sing his songs. 0.5mi/900m. Accessible via foot.
  • American Folk Art Museum: Tour this lovely museum, which focuses on contemporary self-taught artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. 0.6mi/1km. Accessible via foot.

excellent location, small apartment, faces a wall and has no kitchen utensils, quiet only on weekends, but very noisy on weekdays and many internet cuts due to works in the building.

Thank you Christophe for the review. It is true this apartment faces the wall of the next building but the location is great and only a few blocks from central park. As you mentioned, the noise and internet issues arose because we are undergoing renovations in the building to improve the stay of our current and future tenants. Unfortunately during this process we will hit a few road blocks but we always respond to any issues tenants bring to our attention. The renovated apartments are now stocked with plates, cups, glasses, pots, toaster, coffee maker and microwave with a few additional things.

Great location, convenient (bed, desk, wardrobe, minifridge, hot plates, microwave, toaster, linens, and three towels), and quick responses from management. Great for a short-term stay.

Two main problems: 1. cannot successfully get packages delivered to building, 2. cleaning of hallways and emptying trash receptacles sporadic (saw dead fly in hallway for at least two weeks).

Keep in mind that: great location + pub on the first floor = noisy. But the location really is very convenient.

The apartment was a great experience. Although it was quite small, it was perfect for our 1-month stay.
