Enjoy sky high living with this loft-like one bedroom apartment in Midtown East! Situated on the 22nd floor of a high-rise building, this apartment offers fantastic views of the East River and natural light easily floods the space. The building also offers extra amenities such as a 24-hour doorman in the lobby, elevator service and on-site laundry facilities.
In addition to sunlight and the amazing views, this apartment also offers a tastefully furnished living space with high ceilings, giving it a lofty feel. The rooms are decorated with restraint, creating an uncluttered atmosphere, yet still providing all the essentials. The living room offers a sofa, flat screen TV and a wall of closets, while the bedroom simply provides a queen size bed and more closet space! Both rooms have ceiling fans, and air conditioning is also available. The galley-style kitchen has ample counter-space for prepping meals at home.
Step outside the building and you will find yourself in the part of Midtown East known as "Turtle Bay" since it is so close to the East River! Situated near the intersection of East 46th Street and 2nd Avenue, you are only three blocks from the river itself (about 500m) and less than a block (approx. 200m) from the United Nations Headquarters! you will find many consulates on the streets nearby.
Midtown's central location in Manhattan makes it a popular place with many types of people, allowing you to benefit from the myriad restaurants and shops that line the avenues here. A few hotspots include:
- Grand Central Terminal: Not only a transit hub and NYC landmark, there is an Apple Store and more inside, as well as Anne Taylor Loft, J. Crew and many more stores on the streets that make up its perimeter (a little over 1/2 a mile or about 900 meters from the apartment).
- East River Promenade: Starting on 60th Street and running north past Gracie Mansion and beyond, this is a great option for joggers or those who just enjoy the view across the water onto Brooklyn and Queens!
- 2nd Avenue: this thoroughfare is just around the corner and has plenty of local dining options from the casual Goodburger on East 43rd Street to the classier Matisse on East 49th, serving fine French fare.
If you need to reach other parts of New York, just head east to Grand Central Station, which has the 4, 5, 6 and 7 subway lines, connecting you easily to spots on the Upper East Side and downtown, as well as Queens. There are also many commuter trains here, connecting you to Connecticut and cities in the greater New York area.
