This room for rent is located in a One bedroom apartment share on the 8th floor (considered 7th by Europeans) of a 9-story pre-war building in the Clinton neighborhood of Midtown West, Manhattan, New York City. The building has an elevator, fulltime doorman and on-site laundry facilities. The apartment offers eastern exposure. The room has a sofa bed that is used by the roommate, and contains a dining table that seats two. The small open kitchen contains a small fridge, a stove top and toaster oven (though no conventional oven). Next to the living room is your bedroom, also with hardwood floors and another window with an eastern exposure looking towards neighboring buildings. The room includes a double bed, bookcase, TV, desk with chair, and closet for additional storage space. The world-renowned concert venue Carnegie Hall is just 4 blocks away from the apartment (0.4mi/645m), and Lincoln Center is also just 6 blocks away (0.6mi/965m). 4 blocks from the apartment you will find Columbus Circle (0.3mi/480m), with a Whole Foods Market for convenient grocery shopping and is also where you will find the exquisite restaurant Marea (0.4mi/645m). One of the biggest attractions in New York City lies next to Columbus Circle: Central Park. To commute to other neighborhoods in New York, you can catch the A, B, C, D and 1 subway trains at Columbus Circle (0.4mi/645m), or walk three blocks east from the apartment to 57th Street and 7th Avenue where you can take the N, Q and R trains (0.4mi/645m).

Excellent location, apartment is extremely cozy, roommate is a good mix of hospitable yet private. She will let you do your own thing, but if you want to do things together, she will also be willing to accompany you.

Doormen to the building are very friendly; make you feel right at home. Space is very limited in the apartment, so don't bring an excessive amount of luggage!

Overall a comfortable stay, and you cannot beat the location.

Hi Amber,

It was great to have you here! The storage space in the bedroom is limited and set up for short stays of up to 2 months as each guest has different needs.

If more space was needed for comfort ~ I think that you would have requested this and I would have accommodated you. I will create more space for future roommates as a result of your feedback.

You were a wonderful guest/roommate and I wish you all the best in your life.

I wanted to say Patricia is a great woman, I got on really well with her, it went very smoothly. If you have young ladies who are newcomers in New York, Patricia is the ideal hostess as she is very endearing and motherly.

The only downside was that she had to go through my bedroom to access the bathroom, but that was the deal.

Dear Zoe,

I loved having you here. Your energy was uplifting and fun. I like to think of myself as a mentor or motherly mentor ~ ha ha ~ Let's get together soon before you leave New York in July.

Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for your comments Zoe! Indeed, we specify in the description of the apartment that the bathroom is shared with the owner and is only accessible through the bedroom.

We greatly appreciate your feedback.

The apartment is in an ideal location, from which you can reach any spot in Manhattan without any problem thanks to the proximity of the main subway lines. The apartment isn't big but it's comfortable and has everything needed.

The roommate is a sweet lady, a New Yorker GO (guarantee of origin), whom it is a great pleasure to spend an evening with, to watch a film or to go for a walk in the streets of Manhattan. The neighborhood is very safe even if vibrant: actually, there are several restaurants and a pub just a few steps away, as well as Central Park.

Irene it was a pleasure to have you here. At times the apartment felt so quiet/private when you were studying. I will never forget how we prepared for Hurricane Sandy.

Lots of luck with your studies.
