Very convenient and pleasant apartment, well equipped, quiet and very close to the subway. The owner, Paula, is very helpful, personable and attentive, she really is a wonderful person, and we recommend this apartment. |

We spent 11 days there in August, the apartment is very well located, 2 minutes from a subway station. It is large and spacious, ideal for a family of 6, the kitchen and washing machine facilities make it feel like home. We appreciated the warm and helpful contact of the owner, Paula. I recommend it. |

We loved this apartment. It was spacious and comfortable and the owner couldn't have done more to make us feel like this was our home for the week. They went out of their way to accommodate our arrival and departure making everything super easy. The location was fantastic - just a short walk (about 2 minutes) to the subway and on a really convenient subway line too - we travelled on the subway lots as it was so quick and easy. There are grocery stores just a few blocks away and we found everything we needed (the C'Town on St Nicholas Avenue at W161st Street was great). The kitchen was well equipped, the ice-maker in the freezer very much appreciated, the couch was perfect for lounging, the beds were comfortable (the sofa bed in the second bedroom was ideal for our children) and there was plenty of storage. Staying in this residential neighbourhood, we felt like native New Yorkers and that made our whole experience of the city even more special. |
Review by: Nadine L., Oct 09 2018 From: Canada, Accommodation Rental: 2 days |
This is a nice apartment with good value. A bed, rather than a sofa bed, would be appreciated in the second bedroom, but all the same it is comfortable. Paula is very welcoming and nice. The apartment is a bit far from Manhattan's attractions, but as it is located next to subways, it doesn't matter so much. We enjoyed our stay. |
Answer by: Accommodation Owner Nov 01 2018 |
Nadine, thank you for your good ratings and review. I'm glad you found your stay welcoming. Since space is at a premium in Manhattan, it is not uncommon to have furnishings perform double duty. The second bedroom has a sofa bed and desk so it can serve as an office if needed, which is useful to guests who need to work while visiting New York City and prefer that as an option. You do need the subway to get to Midtown Manhattan, but as you noted, the station is very close (one block away) and the trains can take you to Times Square in 20-25 minutes. I'm glad you had a good stay! |

The apartment is perfect, clean and in keeping with the pictures. We truly enjoyed our stay here. It is close to subway and bus so you can reach the main New York attractions in less than 20 minutes. Paula is very kind and receptive. This family trip is unforgettable. Thanks PAULA! |

For our purposes the apartment was conveniently located. It is near the subway, restaurants and groceries. The owner was very accommodating, friendly, and the place was very clean. We would rent again from this owner and location. |

Good value for money. The landlady was very welcoming. Well located next to subway. Bedding should be improved. |
Answer by: Accommodation Owner Jun 06 2016 |
Thank you, Armel, for your stay and your favorable comments. I'm glad you found the apartment to be of good value. I'm not sure which bed you would like to see improved, as your party of six used multiple beds in the apartment and there was no mention to me of any discomfort. I noticed someone may have had difficulty in closing one of the sofa beds, which was left in an open but skewed position. To close it, it has to be aligned properly by pushing back the front panel at the center of the sofa, rather than from the side. So no worries, it's not broken. |
Review by: Carine L., Jan 05 2016 From: Canada, Accommodation Rental: 2 days |
First of all, I would like to say that Paula is generous, cheerful, pleasant, very accommodating and absolutely adorable. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and very functional. It is ideally located next to a subway station, so that you can easily reach Manhattan. The neighborhood is really safe, we felt secure. Negative point: the place was not clean enough (dust on the furnishings and in the corners), but this detail won't prevent us from coming back for a future stay. |
Review by: Lydie N., Nov 01 2015 From: France, Accommodation Rental: 8 days |
The landlady is very nice and welcoming, very flexible. This is a spacious and well-equipped apartment, located in a very pleasant area, close to subway and grocery stores. We will surely come back and recommend this apartment to our friends. The only negative point: tenants have to clean the apartment when they left (obviously there is no cleaning lady). The apartment is not dirty but it was not clean either (there was dust on the furnishings and under the bed). |
Answer by: Accommodation Owner Nov 24 2015 |
Thanks, Lydie. I appreciate your personal endorsement of the apartment as one you would return to and recommend to your friends. Please come visit again. Guests who tidy up the apartment before they leave help create a faster turn around time for other guests who may be arriving that same day before a more detailed cleaning of the apartment takes place. And if you're staying in someone's home, it's a thoughtful thing to do. |

Review by: Christine P., Aug 23 2015 From: France, Accommodation Rental: 10 days |
Apartment very well located (quiet street, close to the subway), spacious, well appointed and well equipped. Cons: general cleanliness. The accommodation must be thoroughly cleaned (lots of dust on and under the furnitures, 'filth' along baseboards, floor needs to be washed). Shortening the curtains would avoid them touching the ground and make them easier to handle. A working vacuum cleaner is needed in the apartment. |
Answer by: Accommodation Owner Oct 28 2015 |
I'm glad you liked the location and furnishings of the apartment. Guests are allowed to use the Dyson canister vacuuum cleaner, kept in the laundry room for tenant access. It has three interchangeable heads - for rugs, bare floors and upholstery. However, the rug head apparatus will not work when it's clogged with hair, which seems to have been the case when I examined it. Regretably, someone had not cleaned it after using it. Also regrettable is that the apartment's exterior wood deck was repeatedly hit with a heavy object, resulting in several broken wood deck tiles that I had to have repaired at my own expense. |

A nice apartment with plenty of room for four adults. Nearby the tube and in the middle of Manhattan. |
Review by: Elba L., Jul 03 2015 From: Colombia, Accommodation Rental: 5 days |
The apartment was comfortable for the 4 of us. They should be more careful with sheets and towels because the ones we got were not ironed and too old (for the price we paid). The apartment is located closer to the Bronx than to Manhattan, which made it harder to visit all the tourist sites |
Answer by: Accommodation Owner Jul 20 2015 |
Thank you Elba for choosing my apartment. |

The apartment was great, large and spacious, and within walking distance from the subway. It was more than we needed. The landlady was very nice, we were really glad to meet her. It was a magical stay. The apartment is a 25 minutes metro ride from Times Square and 45 minutes from Wall Street. It was really convenient for us. |

Great welcoming by Paula who is very nice to her customers and a very beautiful and comfortable flat in a calm neighborhood, very close to the subway. A little suggestion : would be helpful to have some document with useful informations on trash instructions, where to buy foods etc. |

Thanks so much for the great feedback, Rachel! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I actually have an instruction sheet with all of that information on it, I simply forgot to give it to you. My apologies! I will be sure to remember to provide it in the future. Thank you for your feedback! |

We stayed at this property for 4 days in May. We found the set up of the apartment ideal for our needs. We travelled with another family and they too found accommodations in the same building. We are a family of 6 adults and we had plenty of room. This was great for evening get-togethers and travelling to and from the city. The apartment was only one block from the subway, although it was a 30 minute ride into the downtown. The area was very safe and we were comfortable walking around at night. It was nice to see another part of New York city too. The apartment was very clean and Paula was very helpful. I highly recommend these accommodations. |

We could write our names on the desks, parking difficult. |

I do the dusting before the guests arrive but sometimes it still builds up. My street is one of the best parking streets in northern Manhattan because you don't have large apartment buildings on the block. |

The accommodation has all the modern comfort, washing machine and floor cleaner included... It is spacious and very bright, well ventilated, with a pleasant little patio. It is equipped with mosquito nets, air conditioning, tv, free wifi, phone. Two steps from the subway station, in a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood. |

Hello Xavier, I'm glad you found the apartment spacious and comfortable during your 12-day stay. I'm sorry about the noise, though, which seems to be an unavoidable by-product of living in New York City. |

Thanks for the comment. Please know that the apartment is cleaned before guests arrive. I also air out the apartment by opening windows before guests arrive to keep it fresh, which may allow dust from a nearby construction site to enter. |

Very warm welcome and helpful hostess. Out of the 6 sleeping arrangements, 4 are actually on a sofa bed. Lovely vacation rental, well equipped and in a good location. A few reservations on cleanliness. |
Answer by: Accommodation Owner May 08 2013 |
Hi Christine, thank you for your review. In NYC, particularly Manhattan, space is limited and at a premium. Quite often the solution is to use furnishings that have multiple uses. In this instance, the master bedroom has a queen size bed, and there are sofa beds in other rooms. |

This vacation rental is ideal for a couple and a child. We had 3 grown children with us and they all slept in the sitting room. But the pleasure of being in NYC overrode this little drawback. |

In apt. 3, besides the queen-size bed in the master bedroom, guests have the option of placing a queen-size off-the-floor air mattress or fold-out cots in the 2nd bedroom/office area, or in the living room. In addition, the living room sofa converts to a twin bed as well. |

Overall happy with the apartment. Very nice welcome and support from the owner. The only downside is there is only one real bed for 2, the 3 other beds were spare beds (folding bed or sofa bed).fortunately they were sleeping arrangements for children and not for adults. |
