Our experience in the apartment we rented through New York Habitat was fine. We were met at the apartment as arranged by the owner's assistant - a friendly lady who showed us all the features and how to use the appliances and keys etc. There was no elevator so it was somewhat difficult to get our bags up three flights of stairs, but we managed OK (older people may find it difficult). We did not have to pay the security deposit - just the balance on the rent - which was appreciated as we were slightly worried about handing over a cash deposit that we may never have seen again! The apartment was rather small (as we expected) but totally functional, very clean, and at a good price -- so we were pleased with it. |

Owner repainted and refloored the common areas of the building. Work has since been completed. The owner has bought a cover for the bed comforter. |

The vacation rental where we stayed was as described. We were really surprised by the warm welcome we got when we arrived. The studio apartment is equipped with a quite practical small kitchen, the living room with a queen sized bed and a sofa bed, cable TV and Internet (we could not get the wifi connection but it worked fine with the ethernet cable). As for the bathroom, it is quite small, yet comfortable. The neighborhood is nice, near the subway lines. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. |

Thanks to the very detailed description and the great many photos that were provided by New York Habitat there were no surprises left at all. We found the [New York] apartment exactly as described, and there was enough kitchenware and more than enough towels. So we enjoyed our stay in New York very much! |
