Located in the historic district of the medieval city of Avignon, Provence, this loft studio is located on the second French floor of a 3-story building with an intercom security system and that dates from the 17th century!
This apartment offers eastern exposures from the living room and the separate kitchen, both equipped with the major appliances you might need during your stay, plus washer/dryer in the apartment, dishwasher and even a home theater. Indeed, the hardwood floors, the harmonized colors and decoration perfectly match the contemporary furniture featured in the studio. The neat layout of the apartment, with its lofted double bed, makes the most of the space available for a comfortable living area. However, the main advantage of this apartment is its location.
Situated within the medieval walls surrounding the old city of Avignon, you are in the heart of both a thoroughfare and historic district, the Quartier des Théâtres (Theatre District)! Your area is home to plenty of theaters and religious edifices and is widely known for its cultural attractions. Indeed, during summer, Avignon becomes the world capital of theater and live performances thanks to the famous Festival d’Avignon. The City of the Popes is one of the most interesting to visit in France. The Palais des Papes, former residence of the Popes, built in the 13th century, is found within a half a mile radius from your building. Within the same distance, you can find the Cathedral of Avignon, the University of Avignon and a bit further the Pont d’Avignon, or Pont Saint-Benezet, a bridge every single French child knows since it was made famous by the nursery rhyme "Dansons sur le Pont d’Avignon!" You even have a local chapel, the Chapelle des Pénitents Gris, found just across your cobblestoned Teinturiers Street and the closest theater is in your very block!
As for entertainment and discovery of the local South of France gastronomy, you can visit the Bouteillerie du Palais, half a mile away from your place, and try Côtes-du-Rhône wines paired with cheeses carefully selected by the cheese vendors from the Halles! You can also try the restaurant Numéro 75, only 400 feet away and or even closer the restaurant Zinzolin. For shopping, there are spots around the corner, with the closest supermarket is found 160 feet away; window shopping is a bit further, on Rue de la République and Rue des Marchands, less than half a mile away!
