It is a great apartment for two people. It is on the main square in the old town, with great street cafes, flower and food markets and a wide variety of small shops nearby--all the reasons for going to Aix.

A great location, noisy but vibrant. However at night, when the windows were closed (which was fine in October temperature-wise) the noise was no problem.

We are a couple in our 70s and found it fine--convenient and comfortable with lots of amenities.

Good selection of appliances.

Thank you for this nice review. It is always nice to hear my guests were happy with their stay.

I am aware the noise from the street can be disturbing at times. The pedestrian town center and its stores, cafés/restaurants and markets, always attract a lot of people.

But, as you pointed out, you can't overlook AIX main square, enjoy all these facilities, and enjoy the country's peace and quiet at the same time.

Also, once the windows closed, everything's as fine as can be.

This is a great quirky spacious studio apartment right in the middle of old Aix. Step onto the street and you're in the middle of everything. Our host was very helpful and welcoming, she replied immediately to an email when we had a problem. But unfortunately our first night was a horror, unbearable music and shouting until 4am -- from the street, the stairs, and a party in the apartment above.

We've lived in big cities and we like the ambience of city living but Aix is a student town and the apartment is surrounded by student digs and around the corner from one of the most popular streets for cafes and bars. After a sleepless first night we didn't know if this happened every night and we seriously considered forgoing our week's rent and moving to a hotel.

But we bought earplugs and gave it another night and it didn't happen again. There were the street noises that you expect in Centre Ville, so it was just that first night that was a near disaster. We left before the next Friday night.

In every other way we'd recommend this apartment, and Aix.

I am sorry about that bad 1st night, I don't like my guests to be disappointed. Also very surprised as the people who live in this building are all a "certain" age and do not usually disturb the neighbors. The noise actually came from new young tenants.

But since then and thanks to the building manager's watchfulness, they have understood that noisy parties are not everybody's cup of tea and I can assure you that it is quiet!

Alan, you had the bad luck to be there at the wrong time and the earplugs stayed in their packaging for the rest of the stay, you said.

I do apologize for them.

Great location, only a block away from the daily market and surrounded by many shops, cafes and wonderful food. Well suited for a couple and maybe two others.

The greatest highlight of this vacation renal is its wonderful location in the heart of the old town of Aix en Provence. It is in the pedestrian area, drectly across from the Hôtel de Ville, which means it is also only a few steps from Place Richelme where you can find Aix daily market.

The accommodation is spacious, clean, light and equipped with everything you need. The owner is very friendly, but a little knowledge of French is recommended.

The apartment is on the second floor of a 19th Century townhouse that has no elevator. Also, the loft bed is accessible via a ladder/steps (though not very steep), this could be an issue for people with reduced mobility.

In this case, you can still use the pull-out sofa bed that is in the apartment.

Overall this was the perfect place for us! The owners were kind, organized and helpful. Location was very central which made it quite loud at night but being central this was to be expected and we did not mind. Very clean and great shower!!

Markets, shop and cafes at our doorstep, we did not want to leave! It was a wonderful experience and we are so happy to have chosen to stay there.

Everything went very well, as always. The tenants of the vacation rental were charming people, apparently well satisfied also.

The location was outstanding. Right on one of the prettiest fountain squares-Place de Hotel de Ville. High ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of light and was great for people watching.

Because this central location is so popular, there was noise 24/7-you could hear everything going on outside and it goes on all night. Earplugs are a must.

Apartment was well-equipped-could have used some cooking knives for food preparation. Had to chop with steak knives.

Apartment was clean except for the loft bedroom which was dusty. But overall a really spacious, pretty apartment with a great location.

Thank you very much for your review Lois. We are so happy to hear how much you enjoyed the location of this apartment! We have shared all your comments with the accommodation owner who answered she will make sure the loft bedroom gets thoroughly cleaned after the current tenants check out. She also said she is going to add knives as needed. We hope you keep great memories of your stay in Aix-en-Provence!

Thanks a lot for your work in finding us those great digs in Aix-en-Provence! The apartment was really perfect and couldn't have been easier to secure the lease, even though I was communicating from Congo!

The landlords were incredibly kind and obliging and the place was just great! I will without question look to you guys for a future rental.

Thanks again!

I was very pleased with this Aix en Provence flat. The apartment was suitable for 2 people, very modern, well decorated and supplied with fridge, microwave etc, everything needed. It was easy to contact the owners to meet for handing over keys etc. Elderly people might need to be advised that it is necessary to go up two flights of stairs and that the procedure to unlock the front door is tricky for anyone who does not have a strong hand and wrist - it wasn't rusty, just a very modern security lock.

The location is ideal for anyone without a car, right in the town centre, surrounded by shops, markets, cafes etc. Can be a bit noisy at night, but nothing unpleasant, just young people enjoying themselves. Flat supplied with maps, leaflets, instructions etc.

It was a lovely apartment in the center of Aix en Provence, very close to a lot of shops, restaurants, cafes, etc.

The apartment itself was quite comfortable for the two of us (a married couple), and we had the option of sleeping on either the loft bed above the kitchenette or the pull-out sofa bed in the 'salon'/living room. The high ceilings and huge windows made the apartment feel quite spacious, and the furniture (including the sofa bed) was all very comfortable.

It also had a very clean, modern decor, so it was easy to get comfortable and 'make ourselves at home' right away, which is always great when trying to find a vacation rental.

I highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment was wonderful. Excellent location, exceptionally clean and convenient and a reasonable price. The [vacation rental owners] were punctual, thorough and generally helpful.

I would highly recommend the apartment to anyone looking to stay in Aix en Provence.
