Discover South Kensington, in the heart of London! Your central London experience begins here at Cromwell Road between Collingham Road and Ashburn Place in an apartment building with a doorman and has a video entry phone system. Internet access is available.

This fully-furnished two bedroom London apartment has a living room with sofas, a dining table with seating for six, a television with cable, and a stereo as well to enjoy and relax with. The semi-open kitchen is well-equipped to handle your meal needs should you wish to do so, and you’ll have plenty at your fingertips to use, including a refrigerator/freezer, oven, range, dishwasher, and even a washing machine for laundry needs. Both the master bedroom and second bedroom have queen-sized beds. There are two bathrooms, each with their own shower and tub for your convenience. There is also a large terrace for your enjoyment.

This two-bedroom London apartment is very close to Knightsbridge and its upscale shopping and dining venues. For added convenience (and to help you use your kitchen should you want to), there is a large supermarket next door. Transportation options are very close by, with the Gloucester Road underground (subway) just 0.5 km/0.3 miles away to the east. Knightsbridge name-brand shopping is 2 km/1.3 miles away to the west, and the grand park space of Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park is only 1.3 km/0.8 miles away to the north. There are many restaurants close by within walking distance offering a wide variety of cuisine, as well as pubs and bars to experience local London.

The location was extremely convenient. It was close to the Underground, as advertised, and close to the other locations mentioned. The photos make the property look a bit brighter than it is, but are representative of the apartment.

The apartment was quite clean as far as everyday dirt. However, the carpets were stained and could use a good steam cleaning.

The major concern was that there was no mention that the apartment is 2 stories. Fortunately, accessibility was not an issue for us, because this apartment was not particularly accessible. The door opens on the upper floor, where there is only the larger of the 2 bedrooms, plus a bath. The living area, kitchen, and other bedroom/bath are on the floor below, and these can only be reached by the stairs. The stairs are very steep, as well.

The downstairs bedroom has a fire exit onto an enclosed area within the 4 sides of the building. That area did not appear to be reachable from another point in the building, other than through bedrooms of the other apartments. We did not explore to see if this was actually the case.

The minor concern was the "coffee maker", but this may be a cultural issue. I don't think that an electric tea kettle is a coffee maker, but I do know that the British are great users of instant coffee.

The last surprise was to find that the property owners were showing the apartment, without notice to us, to potential renters while we were occupying it. This really should be stated in the terms of the agreement. My husband found out when there was a knock on the door.

Further to this review, we contacted the management of these apartments who stated that there is an on-site housekeeper and a team of cleaners and maintenance people. If anything is reported to housekeeping it is dealt with immediately.

The apartment manager apologized for the apartment showing without notice and said this is not the norm and should not have happened without prior arrangement.

The coffee maker has been removed from the features/description.

NYH does state in the apartment description that the apartment shown in the pictures is a sample apartment but since there are both single floor and duplex apartment options available at this location, our agents will confirm whether clients will be getting a single floor or duplex apartment and make sure clients are aware of this before booking in case any guests have an issue with using the stairs.

+ flexible (2 additional beds)

- no cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, sponges...), having the apt being cleaned once a week is not sufficient
- no flexibility for late checked out

Overall, I would recommend it.
