This one bedroom duplex apartment is located in downtown Manhattan, New York on the border of Chelsea and Greenwich Village. It is on the 4th and 5th floors of a walk-up building with a security system and, additionally, has access to the roof deck.
The lower level of the apartment includes the living room, bathroom and kitchen.
The living room is up about 3 steps from the entry area. The living room is furnished with designer chairs, two twin sized day beds that convert to sofas, a glass dining table with four chairs, a flat panel TV with cable, DVD player, stereo (with iPod dock) and lots of modern artwork. The living room includes high speed (plug in) Internet connection and air conditioning.
The bedroom is about 150 square feet and contains a queen-sized bed. It has a large storage unit with shelving and a metal alarm clock. Lighting is provided by a floor lamp and ceiling fan. There is a large sliding door, which accesses the roof deck. There is air conditioning in the bedroom as well.
The roof terrace is spacious and in the summer includes a chair and dining table. It is exposed to the north and offers glimpses of the skyline. The living room overlooks 14th Street, giving views of both the city scape and the street below.
Please note that this apartment is located on 14th Street, a busy 2-way street and that although the apartment is on the top floor with double-paned windows, it can be noisy at times.
The apartment is conveniently located on the border between Greenwich Village and Chelsea, giving you equal access to both neighborhoods in Manhattan. The two neighborhoods are two of the most popular in New York City, and are filled with restaurants, shops and activities. Right by the apartment you are able to find groceries, vintage clothing shops, bars, hair salons, and even psychics. This neighborhood is a food junkie's dream; restaurants are found in abundance. Some highlights include: Papaya King, A Salt and Battery/ Tea and Sympathy and Magnolia Bakery. Also nearby on 9th Avenue is the Apple store and Chelsea Market, home to the Food Network. There is also Jackson Square, a small park with a cast iron fountain and wireless Internet access. Across the street from the park is the Crumpler store, a popular bag shop in NYC. Walk one block west and you are in the Meatpacking District a great place for clubs and nightlife. This furnished apartment is just blocks away from Union Square, NYU and Cooper Union.
Please note that there is limited closet space in this apartment.
