This is a one-bedroom apartment for rent in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. Located centrally on 85th Street off of York Avenue, it is not far from the East River. The apartment sits on the 4th floor (considered 3rd in Europe) of a five-story pre-war walk-up building. For privacy assurance and convenient guest entry, a buzzer/intercom system is in place.
Fully furnished with modern décor, this spacious home spans a total of 700sqft/65.03sqm. The layout of this one-bedroom apartment provides ideal privacy.
In the living room, two windows allow natural lighting, overlooking the backyards of the buildings on this block. A sofa and two chairs sit atop hard wood flooring and offer ample seating space for guests, whether for socializing or enjoying a movie with the cable TV or DVD player. Paintings scatter the walls, adding color and personality to the home, and the prewar wall moldings remain, adding elegance.
The well-equipped kitchen is located nearest the living room, complete with a dishwasher. The pressed tin ceilings are painted a subtle white, but still bring interest to the space. A dining table fit for four is just around the corner in the living area.
The large bedroom extends 240sqft (about 22.3sqm) and is attached to an open office area of about 150sqft (13.9sqm). It includes a queen-sized bed and two windows with view of the street and surrounding architecture. Closet space accommodates item storage and a decorative fireplace and more tin ceilings add pre-war era charm. The alcove office includes a desk with chair for a workspace, and can be closed off from the kitchen and living room with a door.
