It lies on the 4th and top floor (3rd for Europeans) of the walk-up building equipped with a security system, and situated at the crossing of two New York City vibrant neighborhoods: Gramercy and East Village! There is laundry in the apartment!
The brown and beige color scheme of this apartment create an intimate ambiance, and is complemented by the warm color of the hardwood floors. This apartment also has the luxury of oversized windows, overlooking the street and letting in natural light. There is so much to do and see in your neighborhood that you might not spend a lot of time in your apartment! But when you do, you will find everything for your comfort and entertainment : there is a sofa bed in the second bedroom room where you can watch cable TV, and a dining table where you can enjoy your meals. The kitchen has the necessities for you to cook at home, including a kettle, coffee maker and toaster for your breakfasts. The other beautiful bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed, a desk where you can work or surf the internet, and a closet for storage. And the modern tiled bathroom has a large walk-in shower.
From this two bedroom apartment not only will you benefit from a modern and comfortable apartment which includes an en-suite washer/dryer, but you will also enjoy a central location in Manhattan, close to everything! Here are some great spots to check out in the area:
- Stuyvesant Square: located right at the corner, this park is great for a morning walk, or anytime you are looking for a break from the busy atmosphere surrounding you!
- Union Square (.4 miles / 700m) : one of New York City's great public spaces, this historic intersection in Manhattan is today an important gathering point, thanks to its central location and subway intersections. It houses the Union Square Greenmarket four days a week, where you can watch cooking demonstration and taste samples from local chefs. Enjoy a meal purchased from one of the many farmers selling their fresh produce at the market and enjoy it at the park at the center of the square!
Please note that there is a hospital close to the apartment, therefore some siren noise can be heard at times.
- Nightlife: if you like going out, you will find a myriad of restaurants, bars and clubs all around your apartment! East Village south of 14th Street is famous for its amazing nightlife and houses some of the best bars and nightclub in the city. Dive bars like International Bar or Lucy's are less than half-a-mile away (800m), and Elsa or Summit Bar have great cocktails if you don't mind walking a little further (about .7 and 1 mile away / 1.12 and 1.6km).
- Restaurants: you will also be spoiled when it comes to food, with plenty of restaurants surrounding you! Whenever you don't feel like cooking, just walk one block to 14th Street and get a slice of the delicious artichoke pizza at Artichoke Basille's Pizza! For grocery shopping, walk 0.2 miles east to Associated Supermarket. Or a little further to Trader Joe's!
The closest subway station is 1 Avenue / 14 Street, where you can take the L train that runs west to 8th Avenue along 14th Street, and east to Brooklyn, past the trendy Williamsburg! To connect to other subway lines, take the L for 2 stops to Union Square served by 6 other trains that will take you anywhere you need to go!
