Little Italy has been a place of changing fortunes for centuries, a place where generations come and go, bringing and taking culture. Today, the culture traditionally associated with Little Italy can be found on Mulberry Street. Here, near Grand Street, amidst old tenement buildings, there is a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom furnished apartment. This furnished rental sits on the second floor (equivalent to the first floor in Europe) of a brick building. The building has an elevator, laundry amenities, and a security system. This is SoHo, Manhattan in New York City, and fortunes are made and lost here by the industrious and adventurous.
Please note: The ground floor of this building shares space with a restaurant which can be noisy at times.
Life itself is an adventure, and the way you live it can flavor it one way or another. In this apartment’s kitchen you will find all you need—an oven, a microwave, a fridge, and a freezer as well as a dishwasher—to spice up your day with a home cooked meal. In the living room you can relax on a sofa while watching TV, or you can eat a meal at the dining table. Hardwood flooring runs through both rooms. The furnished bedroom has a double bed. And if all this is not enough, the bathroom has a tub (in combination with a shower).
On the narrow street below, lined with terrazze and ristoranti (terraces and restaurants), you will get a glimpse of what early twentieth-century New York life was like. The buildings still bear the quintessential New York fire escape. And though the area is busy, not a skyscraper is in sight (except for the distant Empire State Building). You can visit the Museum of Chinese in America two blocks over, or head to Chinatown five blocks down. Or you could visit the Tenement Museum, located a half mile (around 800 meters) from this furnished rental, to see a more detailed glimpse into the past.
You can head over to Canal Street to catch a ride on the subway. Among the three stations no more than 0.3 miles (around 500 meters) from the apartment, you will find the 6, J, N, Q, R, and Z trains.

Really great apartment in excellent location. The apartment is very spacious by New York standards! It is however, quite a noisy street which is the trade off for being in this location. Earplugs help! |
