Other walls in the apartment are white, and give the apartment a contemporary look.
At a 0.4-mile (around 643 meters) distance west of the apartment is the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, exhibiting modern and contemporary paintings in one of the most famous buildings in the world. 0.6 miles (around 1 km) away is Carl Schurz Park, home to the mayor's residence. The Gracie Mansion Conservancy was built in 1799, and now holds public tours and events. The park also has a ferry terminal on the East River. Within three blocks are also many restaurants ranging from Mexican and Italian to Asian eateries. There are convenience stores in this area, as well. 0.5 miles (around 800 meters) away is Central Park, the most well-known park in New York City and the biggest park in Manhattan.
You can climb aboard the 4, 5, or 6 trains at the subway station near 86th Street and Lexington Avenue (4 blocks from the apartment). You can take the Q train at the station near 86th street and 2nd Avenue (5 blocks away). With these train lines, you can reach The Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
