This furnished room for rent is located in a two bedroom apartment, on the 2nd floor of a twenty story elevator building on Roosevelt Island, in the Upper East Side of New York City. For your convenience, a 24-hour doorman will be present at the entrance and there is a laundry facility located within the building.
The two bedroom unit is furnished with a double bed, a cable TV, a desk with its chair, and a dresser. It also has a closet with good storage space and a window facing the balcony, allowing for plenty of sunlight. You will have your own private bathroom, which is equipped with a tub /shower, vanity sink, and WC. The living room is furnished with sofas, coffee table, dining table and chairs—a pleasant space where you can enjoy your free time and become acquainted with your roommate. It also features four windows, which face the balcony, and offer views of the tree-lined street. The lovely balcony, with its table and chairs, is the perfect place to relax and take in the fresh air. The kitchen is equipped with the basic appliances you will need to prepare your meals, such as a microwave oven, a dishwasher and a coffee maker. The apartment has a functional layout and is decorated in a rather eclectic style— the artwork displayed on the walls and windows, as well as the bright colored furnishings and accessories give it a lot of character!
The apartment share is on Main Street on Roosevelt Island, a thoroughfare which runs from the northern tip of narrow island, down to area near the Queensboro Bridge (0.7 miles). There are many shops, grocery stores and restaurants in the vicinity, most of which you’ll find along this principal path. The area is full of parks, with bicycle and jogging paths, and has beautiful views of Manhattan’s East side. This area is distinctive because of its small town feel, while it is just one subway stop away from Midtown Manhattan. You will be surrounded with many attractions, all within in a 300ft radius, starting with the New York Public Library, right next door, the St Frances Cabrini Church, a little further down, and the Main Street Theatre and Dance Alliance. In terms of dining options, try the Trellis restaurant, which is a good pick for affordable food and a laid-back atmosphere. The neighborhood also houses many sport centers, like a baseball court (300ft) and swimming pool, among others.
You will be able to explore other area of New York easily, since your room for rent is well located. The nearest subway station, Roosevelt Island (F train), is quite close—less than 1,000ft away—and will take you to Manhattan or Queens in minutes!
Please note that smoking is only allowed in the balcony, and eating in the bedroom is prohibited, as are pets and guests.

Marilyn and Daniel were very gracious hosts and the apartment looks like the listing pictures. Marilyn is a caring human being. It was truly a lovely experience. |
