I could not speak more highly of this apartment and it's owner. I felt at home the moment I stepped inside, and I will forever be grateful for my time spent living here. The space itself offered comfort, light, and a deep sense of ease amidst a bustling cityscape. After long, busy days I looked forward to coming "home." The space itself is beautiful, and I had everything I needed. One of my favorite spaces in the whole apartment was the open kitchen/living room because of the stunning windows and natural light--it is a little oasis! I love to cook, so the owner and I shared occasional meals and hosted getogethers with friends. I loved every second of it! It's also in an amazing location, there is so much to explore and do. This place was my home for a good period of time and I'm so glad it was. My overall experience was wonderful in every way and I had a truly meaningful time living here.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hidden gem in NYC.

Apartment wasn't too clean, kitchen tools provided were not clean.

Hey Mohammed,
I hope you are well. I apologize if you thought the apartment was not "too clean". The kitchen, bathroom and living room were kept clean. You and Sharif cooked in the kitchen and used the utensils every day, you guys actually used the kitchen more than I did. After many years of hosting, I have never had complaints about utensils.
Best,
Beverley

My experience in this apartment was very good in general. The owner of the apartment was very nice, she always tried to create a good atmosphere among the roomates.
The room was very confortable and quiet, which is difficult to find in NYC.

A few things to bear in mind are the neighbourhood, which is a little far from the city center and it is also far from the subway lines (the two nearest subway stations are about 15-20 minutes far from the apartment), and also the kitchen, which is a little bit old and we did not have much space to store all our stuff.

However, the owner of the place is a really good person and she always wants their guests to feel very confortable. So if you have any problem, not only in the apartment but in NYC in general, you can tell her and she will try to help you as much as she can.

Dear Alex,
It was a pleasure hosting your stay in NYC, you and Sheila were wonderful guests.
Manhattan is the city and is broken up into neighborhoods. The apartment is not in Midtown which some might consider the center, however, it is more commercial with many high rise offices. The East Village is an oasis, it has many great restaurants, bars, unique stores, gardens and really evokes a sense of community.
It is a 10-minute walk to either F or L subway lines. However, there are buses at the ends of the block which run frequently, the M14, a crosstown bus, and the M9 which goes downtown through LES, Chinatown, City Hall and Battery Park City. There is also the crosstown M8, three blocks away.
As the apartment is in the East Village you can easily walk to the West Village, Noho, Union Square and Chinatown within 20 minutes.
I believe that the location of your lab at NYU was a 10-15-minute walk.
The kitchen is a bit dated but is well-equipped and clean. Please take into consideration that when 3or 4 people each buy a gallon of milk and store their own foods, where sometimes there'll be 3 boxes of sugar, 3 loaves of bread etc, space might be a little cramped but there is space for everything.
Again, you were great, say hello to Sheila.
Best,
Beverley

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time staying in the apartment with Beverley. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how big our room was and the apartment itself. The location was fantastic! Although there is no subway station right on the street there is a bus which is very easy to catch and cheap that can take you right to Union Square. We loved the neighborhood and it offered a little escape from the hussle and bussle of the city. Beverley was awesome and she made us feel so welcomed, she showed us around the area on our first day and gave us many great tips. We felt very safe and welcomed during our stay and we were very sad to be leaving. If you are looking for an apartment for a short or extended stay then this is the perfect one!

I lived at this apartment for 12 months.

I had an absolutely amazing experience. Everything about the host and apartment was divine. Truly, the host is a wonderful woman who cares about her guests.

I highly recommend this place to anyone, whether your in NY for work (like myself) or play (ideally located near many bars/restaurants). This apartment is perfect for all types of people.
