This room for rent is located in a converted two bedroom apartment on the 14th floor (considered the 13th by Europeans) of an 18-story elevator building at Horace Harding Expressway & 99th Street in the Corona section of Queens, New York. There are security guards plus an intercom and camera system and laundry facilities in the building for your convenience. There is also a pool (available for use at a daily fee) and basketball facilities in the building complex.
Upon entering the apartment share, you will find yourself in the living and dining area of the apartment, which is shared with the roommates. Immediately to your right is a dining table and a half-wall/counter area that looks into the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a 4-burner electric stove and oven, microwave oven, and all the necessary cookware to prepare meals at home. In the living room area there is a sofa.
Bedroom 1, the private room for rent, is furnished with a king-size bed, a wall of closets, and a flat screen television. Two windows in this room overlook other buildings and the pool whose use is for residents of the complex.
The shared bathroom for the apartment features a tub with shower, sink with overhead mirror, and a shelving unit for additional storage.
Outside the two bedroom apartment share, you will find yourself in the southeast part of Corona, a residential area of Queens situated between Flushings and Jackson Heights. Close to the apartment there are plenty of places to shop or eat out. Up at 104th Street and 46th Avenue is Corona landmark restaurant “Leos’s Latticini-Mama’s know for their meatball sandwich and homemade mozzarella. Stop by here on game day to find the place full of Mets fans. Maybe you will even spot one of the players since many of them claim Mama’s food is their go-to pre game meal! If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors head to Flushing Meadows Corona Park, a 1-mile (1.6 km) walk from the apartment. Here you can visit the Queens Zoo, New York Hall of Science, Botanical Gardens, or take advantage of the baseball fields, tennis courts and skate park of the park. The Queens' Library is just around the corner of the apartment complex as well.
To access the rest of Queens and downtown NYC the closest subway is at the 63 Drive / Queens Boulevard : Rego Park Station where you can catch the M or R trains which will take you directly through Queens to Midtown Manhattan.

The landlady was very welcoming, friendly and ready to help. The commute to Manhattan takes a bit; however, the connections are good. There are amenities (groceries, pharmacies, malls etc.) in the close surrounding. |
