It presents all the urban conveniences you’d expect: Laundromats, pharmacies and food stores within walking distance. A plethora of shops and retailers can be found on Liberty Avenue (0.2mi/350m). While living in Queens, we suggest stopping by its many beloved museums little visited by tourists, including the Museum of the Moving Image (7.2mi/11.7km) and the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center (7.2mi/11.6km)!
To access other neighborhoods of Queens or to travel to another borough, walk to Crescent Street / Fulton Street (0.7mi/1.1km) for the J and Z trains .

I lived in this house for 5 months during an internship I made at the New York University School of Medicine. I really enjoyed my stay. The room was fine and the subway station was close by. Grocery stores and laundries are plenty in the neighborhood and it is a quiet and diverse neighborhood. Also the kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom I shared with two roommates were very nice and clean! The best about my stay where the two roommates I lived with together. One of them is the landlady and she was my "American mom", who made me forget often that I was away thousands of miles from my family back in Germany. All in all it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay in this shared house! |

This was one of my fondest roommate hosting. We quickly became a family, going out to dinner, his German family coming to visit and having dinner. I truly enjoy hosting overseas rmates who are pursuing their educational goals. Thanks NY Habitat for selecting suitable Rmates |

In Queens, quite and old style neighborhood with groceries and laundromat around. Good location, about 10 mins from the line A and if lucky in other 30 mins you can reach lower manhattan. The house is big enough for 3 people with 2 bathroom, kitchen (full accessory) and a big living room, the 2 rooms for rent are lovely; but the best is the owner (who's one of your roommate), helpful, friendly, a wonderful person that will make your experience in NYC even better. |

I had an excellent 3-month stay at this place. The landlady is so down to earth and easy to get on with and is very accommodating as she provides you with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. I was arriving from overseas and she came and picked me up from the subway and even helped me collect my luggage from the hotel I had been staying at. The landlady has a great knowledge of the city and was there for me answering any questions I had about getting around the city and what places I should go visit. She is a very interesting lady with many stories to tell. Just keep her beautiful home clean and you'll be fine. As she keeps the place immaculate. You are about 40 seconds from the laundromat and close to grocery stores. Its about an 8 minute walk to Grant Ave subway station which is where you can catch the A express train which gets you to downtown Manhattan in half an hour. All in all I had a fantastic stay and met a great person. Would definitely recommend. |

Daniel, thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. My objective is to treat and host room mates as I would want my own family treated. Hopefully my next room mates will be just as pleasant an experience as you. |
