Please note you can either rent this entire 2-bedroom apartment or rent a private bedroom as part of a roommate share where the rest of the apartment is shared.
This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom furnished apartment sits on the fourth floor (equivalent to the third floor in Europe) of a building near 2nd Avenue and East 5th Street. This is the area known as the East Village in Manhattan, New York City. The furnishings include a washing machine.
The two bedrooms in this apartment have many details in common. Both overlook the street. Air conditioning keeps both cool. Both have a double bed and a TV—great for your relaxation. The first bedroom balances the open feel of two windows with the intimate feel of an enclosed storage space and a desk nook. The second, smaller bedroom achieves the reverse, opening the space up with unencumbered storage.
The kitchen is where you will find the washing machine. You can cook with a toaster and a microwave. And you can store takeout or ingredients in the fridge or freezer. With a marble-like backsplash the color of dolomite, the kitchen begins a snow-white pattern continued in the bathroom. In the bathroom, white tiles rise from floor to ceiling. In an Italian shower there, in the corner, water falls from ceiling to floor.
In the East Village, the skyscrapers of Midtown soar to the north and the skyscrapers of Downtown tower to the south. This community, more down-to-earth than its neighbors, has a long history of innovation and excellence. The Lower East Side may claim the famous Katz’s Delicatessen (only because it sits on the south side of East Houston Street), but East Village is home to McSorley’s Old Ale House, one of the oldest ale houses in the city and home to a living assemblage of history—0.4 miles (around 650 meters) and 0.2 miles (around 300 meters) respectively. A few museums neighbor this furnished rental, including the Ukrainian Museum and the Merchant’s House Museum—both a block away. The eateries in the area are a varied bunch, from Latin American to Japanese and almost everything in between. All this, as well as Tompkins Square Park, sits four blocks or fewer from this roommate share. New York University and Washington Square Park sit around a half mile (around 805 meters) from the apartment.
Located around 0.3 miles (around 438 meters) from the apartment, the Astor Place subway station services the 4 and 6 trains. The same distance but located the other direction, the 2nd Avenue station at East Houston Street services the F train.
