A delightful site, the Saint Martin channel is bordered by trees, all along dotted with locks and little bridges, becoming one of Parisians’ favorite areas to live. Started under Napoleon 1st, finished in 1825, it was Louis XIV who first imagined this gorgeous channel, remaining one of the most idyllic Parisian landscapes. Promises of enjoyment are the cycle tracks From Bastille to the Villette district. Sainte Marthe place is still a precious, unique spot of this neighbourhood to be captured with its cafes and appetizing restaurants. It also neighbors the Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord railroad stations. High speed trains to London and Belgium start from this last one.
For instance, in about ten minutes distance by metro is the Louvre Museum, and the Seine River. Nearby, the République Place offers a large option of restaurants, cafés, and diverse sorts of shops.
