This 53m² (or 570 sq. ft.) two bedroom apartment can be found on the third floor (considered 2nd by Americans) of a 6-story building with a convenient elevator on the Gambetta Pere Lachaise neighborhood of Paris. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system and opens into a hall featuring an intercom equipped door. Although the building faces the Passage de la Folie Regnault, a small typically paved Parisian street, the apartment is exposed north on the other side and overlooks the building’s own little green courtyard.
The two bedroom apartment itself opens to a crossroad, from where most rooms are accessible. The second bedroom is directly accessible from here and its sole entrance door brings you into a contemporary furnished room with bright colors and a window giving onto the courtyard and some trees. The room features a desk, a wardrobe, huge windows overlooking the garden and a double sized bed. The 12m² (approx. 125 sq. ft.) living area on the other turn welcomes you into a bright space with a comfy sofa settled in front of a TV with cable and DVD. The first bedroom is separated from the living room by two Japanese-style sliding doors, opening to a colorful and Japanese styled bedroom with its low bed and built-in closets behind another set of sliding doors. The open kitchen is separated from the living room by a bar with its stools, and is equipped with two electric burners, a microwave oven, a small refrigerator and a coffee maker for the necessary appliances. There is also a folding dining table with chairs if you fancy eating in the natural light of the window.
This fully furnished apartment is situated in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, between Place Voltaire and the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery (one of the oldest in Paris), where celebrities such as Chopin, Moliere, Oscar Wilde, and Jim Morrison are buried. The Gambetta / Pere Lachaise area has much to offer: you can find the Place de la Bastille 1.6 km away (1 mile) and try out its Opera de la Bastille, considered one of the best operas in the world. The neighborhood of Père Lachaise is bursting with shops, gorgeous restaurants and cafes, supermarkets, and markets such as the well-known Parisian market Rue Richard Lenoir (open on Thursday and Sunday mornings). In this area there is also shopping of all sorts, from fruit and vegetables to books and clothing.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Père Lachaise served by lines 2 and 3 that go all around the north bank of Paris. There is easy access in just one transfer to reach the southern bank.

Overall excellent experience. Apartment was very clean, and we had all appliances and furniture we needed. Landlord was wonderful, very nice and accommodating. Only issue was that the walls were a little thin, but not much you can do about that. We were very satisfied with our stay. |
