Description
1 Bedroom Apartment Rental in Montmartre (PA-3387)
1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

This cozy one bedroom apartment is perfectly suited to its surroundings in the lovely Montmartre district of Paris. The apartment has a vintage vibe with original artwork dotting the walls, reminiscent of the many artists, writers and poets who have spent time in the 18th arrondissement since its peak as their capital at the end of the 19th century. The apartment is situated atop the hill that this part of Paris is known for, offering you amazing views and a daily opportunity for exercise!  To reach the apartment from the Anvers station, there are at least 100 steps to access the apartment, or you can take the Funicular.  The apartment itself is on the ground floor of a building dating from 1921, fitted with an entrance gate with a coded security system.

The space-saving layout of the apartment provides a maximum of privacy for those wishing to use both rooms as sleeping quarters, with the bedroom and living room on opposite sides of the apartment. The bedroom has a double size bed while the living room sofa is convertible into a double size bed as well. Both of these rooms have natural colored hardwood floors and are lightly painted, ivory and grey respectively, providing contrast with the slate colored hallway, kitchen and bathroom. These middle areas have a more modern touch, complete with stainless steel appliances, a washing machine and table attached to the wall, perfect for prepping dinner or a casual meal. The bathroom is separated by transparent beveled glass cubes, which echoes the glass encased shower. All the windows of this apartment have northern exposure, looking toward a quaint cobbled street that is adjacent to the building.

Outside this one bedroom accomodation you'll be welcomed by the hilly, winding streets of Montmartre. This area, once famous for its bohemian art scene, maintains a village-like ambiance with its many tiny cafes and bars. There are many places to grab a cafe au lait or a glass of wine -- just walk from your corner on the Rue Cortot and Rue des Saules towards the Rue Norvins, where you have a variety of options competing for your business. A little further (about 200 meters or approximately 600 feet from the apartment) begins the Rue Lepic, a picturesque street to stroll down and go grocery shopping with its outdoor fruit and vegetable market. Of course, you also must be sure not to miss the monumental Sacre Coeur Basilica, practically on the same street as the apartment (less than 200 meters or 600 feet), one of the most famous structures in Paris and a fantastic place from which to enjoy views of the city. The high vantage point allows you to see over the rooftops and the Seine, creating an unforgettable view.

There are several transit options near this accommodation to allow you to visit the rest of Paris: the Abbesses station is the closest, 600 meters over the hilly streets from the apartment (about 0.35 miles). This station serves Line 12, which can take you to the left bank or "rive gauche" of the Seine, while the other station, Anvers, gives access to Line 2, ideal for transit in the north of Paris. The Anvers station can be reached easily by taking the funicular, an elevated tramway, down the hilltop, or by descending the famous stairs built into the hillside.

The apartment was smaller than it looked in the ad and there was too much stuff inside so it seemed a little cramped. Nevertheless, it was nice and clean and had all the amenities we needed. Also, it was sometimes difficult to get in touch with the owner as he didn't live locally. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in the apartment, mostly thanks to its location in the heart of Montmartre.

Thank you Katarzyna and Maria for choosing my apartment.

I'm sorry to hear that you found the apartment too small and cramped, since you checked the apartment in person, so this should not have been a surprise.

And about communication. Yes I live in NYC but my apartment is run by a concierge and he lives across my apartment on the same floor, which you knew. I know that you asked me ones to get a letter for you and it took me longer because if it's day in Paris, here in NYC it's night. Thank you but in further I will try to respond faster.
