This art-filled studio will make you feel right at home, situated just south of the Montmartre area, the historic home of the Parisian artist community. This self-contained 24m2 (258 SQF) studio apartment is located between Rue de Dunkerque & Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, within walking distance of Montmartre and the Gare du Nord. It is located on the 4th floor (considered 5th by Americans) of a 7-floor post war building with elevator, digicode and lobby attendant.
In 2011 the studio was completely redesigned and refurbished with a variety of high quality furniture that include pieces from the 1930s and more modern items such as the two white leather chairs that you can find in the living room. The white walls of this apartment serve as an excellent background for the collection of artwork and photography that is displayed throughout the living area. The latter features parquet wood floors and two large southeastern exposed windows, allowing for natural sunlight to brighten the whole apartment and offering great views on the surrounding Haussmanian buildings. These windows are double-glazed to maximize noise protection and shutters for privacy. The living room is furnished with a sofa-bed, a writing desk and shelves. A flat screen TV with cable access, a DVD player and Wifi Internet are also available for your entertainment. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities for cooking at home, including a coffee maker and toaster. The modern bathroom features a shower and a mirror above the glass washbasin. All you need to make yourself at home in this apartment are your clothes and a toothbrush!
Several supermarkets, wine shops and bakeries are conveniently located right outside of the apartment, on Rue de Dunkerque. Paris' 9th arrondissement includes the Grands Boulevards and Clichy areas, and is well known for its elegant shopping galleries, popular theaters and hilly residential streets. This studio apartment is located within walking distance of Montmartre, famous for its many artists who have been omnipresent since 1880 and for one of Paris' most popular landmarks, the Sacre-Coeur Basilica, which offers spectacular views of the city. Less than a mile away you can find the Musée Grevin, a wax museum full of French an American celebrities and more. Another must see in this area is the Opéra Garnier, one of the most the most famous opera houses in the world!
To reach the Opéra, catch the M7 bus at Rue de Fauberg Poissonniere (450 meters or just over a quarter of a mile away), which will take you there in as few as four stops! Additionally this apartment is located close to the Gare du Nord, making transit to and from Paris very easy, including access to the EuroStar line! Here you also have access to the metro lines 4 and 5 and the RER B and D for transit within the city. Additionally the Barbès-Rochechouart metro stop serves lines 2 and 4, and is about two blocks from the apartment.
