The one bedroom apartment is situated on a peaceful, picturesque pedestrian street next to the intersection of the Rue Xavier Privas and Rue de la Huchette. The neighborhood is known for being Paris's oldest, home to the Roman ruins of the city and the Latin-speaking universities in the Middle Ages. Nowadays, the area is still a lively student quarter with a youthful ambiance. The winding medieval streets are among the best preserved in Paris and are home to many convenient food and drink options.
Many of Paris's most famous tourist sites are also right outside your door. Notre Dame de Paris, the cathedral at the heart of the city, less than 300 m (4 minutes on foot) away. Continue across the river and you'll find the Hotel de Ville, Paris's city hall, a monument to late 19th century architecture. Just a few blocks further is the Centre Pompidou, France's national museum of modern art and one of the most distinctive buildings in the city. If you want to relax, the Jardin du Luxembourg, former royal gardens, are nearby at 850 m (10 minutes walking).
The rest of the city is easily reachable by metro, with the nearest stations being Saint Michel (metro line 4), Cluny - La Sorbonne (line 10), and Saint-Michel Notre-Dame (RER lines B, C).
