This house dating from the 15-16th Century is located in heart the picturesque village of Séguret, which is know as one of the most beautiful and authentic fortified villages of the Northern Vaucluse. This 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom house of approximately 90 square meters can accommodate 4 people. The house is surrounded by an enclosed and private garden with a swimming pool.
A large French door gives access to a spectacular vaulted entrance that is used as a dining area. On your right, stairs leads to the kitchen. The dining room has a round dinning table seating 5-6 guests.
From this dining area, you access to the living room with sofas, armchairs, bookcases, and lounge table. This room has a huge south exposed window, and TV.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator/freezer, a toaster, a coffee maker, and a dishwasher.
From the living room, stairs leads to the bedrooms. The vaulted master bedroom has a double size bed and a large window that looks onto the garden and an en-suite bathroom with stall shower, and sink.
A middle room with a huge walk-in closet separates the master bedroom from the second bedroom that has also a window overlooking the private garden and two twin beds.
The second bathroom is in the hallway. It has a bathtub / shower, a sink with a mirror and a WC.
Outside, at the other end of the garden is a brick built barbecue and a swimming pool.
There is no protective fence to prevent children from falling into the water so adults will have to look after them carefully.For your convenience, a laundry room with a washing machine is available in another outbuilding that belongs to the property, near the barbecue. There is also a teak table that would be perfect for dinner alfrescoin summertime. There is also a private garage located at the entrance of the property, with an independent access from the ramparts.
Off the house is a former vaulted cellar that is now used as playground : there is a ping-pong table but it is also a perfect place for children and grown-ups to relax.
Séguret is a picturesque village know as one of the most beautiful and authentic fortified villages of the Northern Vaucluse. The house PR-259 is actually located inside the former remparts of the village so everything is within reach: cafés, restaurants, shops such as grocery, bakery ... During wintertime the village is really quiet and secluded but starting May everything re-opens and it is a very lively place. Eventhough the house is in the heart of the village it has a private garden and a swimming pool which is a rare amenity in such a central location.
This village of Séguret is located in the Vaucluse department, about 7 km from Vaison la Romaine and 20 kilometers from Orange. The most impressive aspect of the area is the famous "Dentelles de Montmirail" which is a paradise for amateur mountaineers and hikers. The massif culminates at 734 m, overlooking wooded areas and wine producing villages. As a matter of fact, this conservation area is also a renowned wine production center where you can encounter a number of picturesque villages with celebrated names like Beaumes-de-Venise, or Gigondas. You will be able to do wine tasting session or visit authentic cellars. Monuments worth seeing : ruins of the Saracen tower, built in the 12th Century and the Turk's rock, a natural outcrop fortified by man. Not far away either, the Ventoux Mountain culminates at an altitude of 1,912 meters and is usually covered by a thick coat of snow in winter. The UNESCO has classified it as "Biosphere reserve". Its majestic windswept peak sails through the clouds, like a gigantic ship of stone. The area is particularly famous for its exceptional variety of rambling circuits, which will lead nature lovers along wonderful paths.
The closest highway is the A9, exit Orange-Sud, 15 minutes drive away. This highway goes from the Spanish border to Orange with connections for all major cities of the south east of France.
The closest train station is at Orange or at Avignon, which is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes !
The closest airport is Avignon or Nîmes-Garons with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
