This amazing private mansion is located on the edge of a picturesque village of the Gard Department. There are actually 2 apartments available for rent (see the other accommodation on our website: PR-481).
You access the property via a private alley lined with plane trees. Then you enter the mansion through an imposing stone-built entrance with vaulted ceiling. The property actually looks like a cloister, with fountains and stone-built staircases. Some part of the house are even dating from the 14th Century. At the back of the house is a beautiful lanscaped garden with lavender fields and swimming-pool.
The 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom duplex is about 80 sqm and sleeps 2 to 4 people. It is located on the 1st & 2nd French floors (i.e. 2nd & 3rd floors), in the tower of the mansion. The whole place is beautifully furnished with antique pieces of furniture and decorated with ancient drawings and paintings, giving to the place a medieval atmosphere.
The large living room is furnished with a comforable (angle) sofa, armchairs, lounge table, and a dresser.
The separate kitchen is fully equipped: electric incuction hotplates, oven, and refrigerator / freezer.
From the living room, a staircase leads to the 1st bedroom that has a double size bed.
The second bedroom is downstairs. It has sloping ceilings abd two twin beds.
The green-tiled bathroom has a sink and bathtub / shower and a toilet.
Outside, in the garden, the swimming pool has an amazing view over the village.
There are enough parking spaces for several cars at the entrance of the property.
The property is located in the middle of the famous vineyards of Tavel, Lirac, Côte du Rhone, and Chateauneuf du Pape. The closest village, Saint-Laurent des Arbres, is located in the Gard department, between Avignon and Uzès. This is a wine producing area and you will be able to do wine tasting session or visit authentic cellars. The dominant feature of the local landscape is its vineyards.
You are 60 km from the sea and the Regional Conservation Park of La Camargue.
The famous Pont du Gard is about a 30 minutes drive. Avignon is pretty famous for its theater festival, and Orange has a wonderful Antique theater that hosts great "chorégies" -Roman choir songs- during the summer. Nîmes also is worth a look and still have a few Roman buildings still in a great state of preservation as the "Maison Carré" -Square House.
The closest highway is the A9, exit Remoulins, 5-10 minutes drive away. This highway goes from the Spanish border to Orange with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. The closest train station is at Avignon, 15-20 minutes drive away, which is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes! The closest airport is Avignon or Nîmes-Garons with daily flights to / from Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports such as Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
