1 Bedroom Apartment Rental in Covent Garden, Bloomsbury - West End (LN-1482)
1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

Covent Garden is a neighborhood in the West End of London known for its exuberant atmosphere and iconic Central Square. This lovely one bedroom apartment rental features a prime location on Whitcomb Street and Pall Mall E, on the third floor (fourth American floor) of a three-floor walk-up with an intercom security system as well as a washer and dryer in the unit.

With a simple and modern interior design, this contemporary one bedroom flat offers you all of the space and amenities to feel right at home in London! The living room features arched ceilings with two large windows, an extra-large wrap-around sofa, a mounted flat screen TV, dining table with seating for three, and a comfortable loft area that is accessible by ladder.

The living room leads into the open kitchen that has sleek all-white cabinetry, a fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, oven, toaster, and is illuminated with natural light from the living room. Your master bedroom has a double bed, two side tables, a double door closet with shelving for storage, and two windows allowing natural sunlight. Your bathroom has bright white tiling, a walk-in shower, towel rack and a W/C.

With a location in Covent Garden, right next to the bustling Trafalgar Square, this fully furnished flat offers you access to around the clock entertainment, with the neighborhood’s abundance of bars and museums.

  • The National Gallery (0.1 mi/161 m) is right on your doorstep, and houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900.
  • Trafalgar Square is a tourist attraction in itself -- a mere (500 ft/152 m) from your flat, this historic square has a number of commemorative statues and sculptures and is often used for demonstrations and gatherings like New Year’s Eve celebrations.
  • The Theatre Royal, Haymarket, is a Drama theatre that dates back to 1720, making it the third-oldest playhouse that is still in use in the city. In 1873, it was the venue for the first scheduled matinée performance, establishing a custom soon followed in theatres everywhere.

The subway at Charing Cross (0.2 mi/322 m) connects you to the Bakerloo line and the Northern Line, connecting you to greater London.

Apartment has a good location and was practical, but:

Dirty entrance hall
Noise pollution due to building site (we were not notified)
Heating didn't work (it was freezing cold and the heater made a constant noise)
Drafty windows
Broken toilet lid
Defect tv cable

Dear Pia
Thank you for reviewing your stay in my apartment.
Firstly, I am very sorry that you had problems with the heating, this should not be the case at all, and a quick call to Charlie could have had it sorted out promptly, the same applies to the toilet seat and TV cable as well. The whole apartment was newly renovated/rebuilt within the last 10 years, and I have not had any problems with the windows, so I can only assume that the draft was caused by one of the windows not having been properly closed. We could have checked this issue for you if you had alerted us to the problem, but as we did not hear from you, both Charlie and I assumed that all was in order and you were happy.
Secondly, due to the construction site right next door, we have consciously lowered our rates and kept them as low as possible, so that it may compensate for the inconvenience. The dust, noise and constant action during working hours is not under my control, but I will be more careful to make sure that future tenants are informed of the building site before they move in!
With best wishes, Tracy

I did not meet or communicate with the owner. All my dealings were with the NY Habitat representative. I believe that the apartment is somewhat under-provided with materials. There was no garbage bin; no iron or ironing board (which was provide on request by NY Habitat); kitchen utensils were minimal (again supplemented by NYH). And access to enough internet needs to be sorted out. Otherwise the apartment was extremely comfortable and well-located. It is not very convenient for cooking and so would, in my view, not encourage long-term stay.
