Found on the gorgeous block in between Tompkins Square Park and the hip German restaurant Zum Schneider, the apartment is your quiet retreat in the middle of the East Village, considered by some to be New York’s hippest and most bohemian neighborhood. Literally over three hundred restaurants and nightspots, ranging from upscale French bistros to cheap rock’n’roll bars, are within minutes walk in each direction. This is truly the heart of New York City, a place where young couples stroll their babies down the tree-lined street alongside artists and musicians on their way to the latest hotspot. It has the charm of any New York neighborhood, but with an international flavor, as there are many Europeans who have also made it their home. For exercise and relaxation, Tompkins Square Park is down the block; the East River two blocks away.
Transportation: Public transportation is everywhere. Bus stops down the block, subways (the L and F) are both about 8 blocks away, and taxis may be hailed any time of day or night. Also, there are 3 bicycles available for the guest in the event you want to ride around the city instead of using public transportation.
