Description
Studio Apartment in Midtown East (NY-14364)
Studio, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

This studio apartment is located in Midtown East, Manhattan at East 52nd Street & 2nd Avenue on the 4th floor (European 3rd floor) of a 5 story walk-up brownstone. This fully furnished NYC apartment is in an older pre-war building in New York City and the age is evident in some of the characteristics of the floors and windows, but is well maintained.

This apartment has a modern décor and southern exposure with a view of the street below. The main room features hardwood floors and two large windows, a sofa, a dining table for two, a TV with cable and a full sized bed. You can cook at home easily in the open eat-in kitchen, equipped with an oven, fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. The bathroom is complete with a shower, bathtub, toilet and a sink.

Please note that the heating system is radiator steam, which can cause loud clanking when in use during the winter. Please also note that some of the floors in this apartment have a minor slant.

Midtown East is a great neighborhood for shopping, nightlife and famous New York landmarks:

  • The Waldorf Astoria (0.4 miles/643 meters) is a functioning hotel that was opened at its current location in 1931. It was the largest hotel of its time, with 47 floors! The site is known for its grand appearance and rich history.
  • Smith & Wollensky (0.2 miles/322 meters) is a classic New York steakhouse known for their dry-aged beef and coconut cake.
  • Lavo (0.7 miles/1.1 kilometers) is an upscale restaurant with a downstairs nightclub. They have DJs and other live performers, which makes a great atmosphere.

There is public subway transportation nearby the studio at 51 Street / Lexington Avenue (6 train, .2mi/400m) and Lexington Avenue / 53 Street (E, M trains; .2mi/280m).

The location is great, the apartment is not very expensive for this location, and it's comfortable. I liked that the stove, the refrigerator, the microwave, and some pans and table sets were new. What is noticeable however is the floor which is leaning, and it's loud (I was located in the apartment under roof). Nonetheless I made my small living and enjoyed it.

Thanks for your comments, Mike! Comfort and value for money are important to us. We are glad that you enjoyed this apartment and your stay in the city. We note that some floors in this apartment building have a minor slant; this building is an older pre-war walkup. We hope to be of service to you again inthe future!

Dear Mike, some floors in our building have a minor slant as the building is an older pre-war building. There is not much we can really do.

We had a very pleasant experience with our booking.

The rep from NY Habitat (Darryl Yarnell) was really great to deal with and responded to all my queries in a such a prompt manner. It gave me a lot of confidence in your company for the booking. Many thanks for Darryl for the great customer service.

The furnished apartment was very clean and in a great location. I must say the landlords were extremely kind and helpful. They were a great first start to New York, so many thanks to them.
