Studio Apartment in Financial District (NY-14470)
Studio, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

This fully furnished studio apartment is in the Financial District, in downtown Manhattan, New York City. The apartment is found on the 7th floor (6th European floor) of a 26-story high-rise building with an elevator. This building is secured by a full-time doorman, and features special amenities for its tenants, such as a 4th floor roof deck, in addition to a 27th floor rooftop terrace with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge. The building also has laundry facilities, a gym and a common lounge with pool table, decorative fireplace and flat-screen TV.

When you enter the studio with wooden floors, high ceilings and crisp, white walls, you will find the bathroom to your right. The contemporary bathroom contains a bathtub plus shower, WC and washbasin. Across from the bathroom is the open kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with deluxe stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and toaster in addition to a gas stove and refrigerator. You will find the main living area next to the kitchen. A queen-sized bed stands next to two windows with a southern exposure, which overlook downtown Manhattan buildings and allow in natural light. The room also features a comfortable sofa facing a flat-screen TV. Cable and Internet access are available. Lastly, the room contains a narrow table which can be used as a desk or dining table, and there are two closets that provide storage space.

This studio apartment is located on John Street between Gold Street and Cliff Street in Manhattan's Financial District. There is much to see and do in this bustling neighborhood. City Hall Park is just 1500 feet (approx. 460 meters) away, as is famous Wall Street. About 1000 feet (or 300 meters) away you will find the South Street Seaport Museum opposite Peer 17. Peer 17, or the South Street Seaport, is a New York historic district where you can enjoy spectacular views of Brooklyn across the East River, explore historic sail ships and enjoy a drink or a bite to eat at the Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club. Check out the New Amsterdam Market, held in the historic Fulton Fish Market on Sundays during the summer and offering a select range of regional and imported foods and goods. There are many other restaurants nearby the apartment, and for grocery shopping you can go to the Jubilee Market Place right down the street. This area also offers plenty of shopping opportunities: Century 21 is just about 5 blocks away. Opposite Century 21 you will find the Freedom Tower and 9/11 Memorial. Public transportation is particularly convenient: you can catch the A, C, J, Z, 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains just 3 blocks from the apartment at the Fulton Street subway station. Battery Park is just 2 subway stops away, and here you can relax in the park or catch a ferry to Staten Island or the Statue of Liberty.

The location of the apartment is ideal for those who work in the financial district.
The concierge services work perfectly, the common areas are clean and livable. The only flaws of this apartment are the dim light and the noise due to the street traffic and the fans of the next building.

Hi Carlo,

Thank you for your great rating and feedback.

In regards to the noise level, please understand that NYC is a 24 hour city and it is inevitable that there will be some noise from the street on occasion. I am not sure about the building fan you have mentioned, but will look into it.

In regards to the lighting, there are several located lamps throughout the apartment since the apartment is not wired for overhead lighting. In the future if you were to return to the US, I would ensure that additional lighting would be added if necessary.

It was a pleasure hosting you!

There was occasional night construction.

Thank you Emily for the rave reviews. I'm so glad you enjoyed the apartment. It was such a pleasure to host you!

As discussed and as you confirmed when you called 311, the night construction was necessary repair work done by the city after Superstorm Sandy.

The work has been completed, however, and as you indicated, is no longer an issue.

I look forward to hosting you again the next time you're in town.

I wish it was for sale, I would buy it! I really liked it. It was a very safe building. The doorman was there if you needed anything.

The hardwood floors were nice, the gym was nice, the building was very nice.
Everyone in the building was very friendly. I couldn't hear my neighbors.

I loved all the appliances. I really liked the dishwasher. It was great to have because I love cooking. The kitchen was up to par. I really liked the stainless steel appliances, too.
