Situated on the West Side of Uptown Manhattan, in Harlem?s Hamilton Heights, this studio apartment is in a historic area, around the corner from Broadway. The apartment is on the ground floor (3 steps below the ground level), of an 1890 brownstone.
This studio offers street front, southern exposure, with a decorative latticed fence to provide privacy. It features exposed brick walls and a decorative brick fireplace, which give it a modern, yet warm and earthy feel. The sleeping area is separated from the kitchen and the living room by shelving unit, accessible from both sides. The kitchen is equipped with major appliances, along with a pub table and chairs. It also offers plenty of cupboard and closet space for storage. All in all, this is a great apartment for a quiet, non-smoker.
Another useful feature of this rental is its central location, near several universities, shopping areas, and waterfront parks. Here in Hamilton Heights, near the corner of the 152nd Street and Broadway, you are in the historic part of Uptown NYC, as well as close to the Hudson River, where a cyclist can enjoy circumnavigating the island on an excellent riverfront bike path.
Broadway, with its restaurants and shopping spots, is just steps away. Harlem Public, a destination bar and cafe, with indoor and outdoor seating, is three blocks to the south, as is a popular noodle shop. There are laundromats less than one block away and grocery stores within two blocks. Historic and cultural monuments such as Alexander Hamilton's House, the Morris-Jumel Mansion, the High Bridge, numerous churches, and Dance Theater of Harlem are close at hand. Yankee Stadium is one subway stop away as well.
The apartment is a ten-minute walk to both the 1 and the A/C subway stations at 145th Street.
To the south, City College of New York is one subway stop from this studio, while prestigious Columbia University is three stops away. Three subway stops to the north is Columbia Medical College and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Boricua College is three blocks away. Thanks to express trains, you are only three stops from Port Authority and Times Square, so commuting is never a problem!

The host was a bit strict with the use of the apartment. The apartment was also pretty hot, as there was no way to regulate the heater. |
