This one bedroom apartment is on the Upper West Side of New York, on West 98th Street & Riverside Drive. It is on the second floor (considered 1st by Europeans) of a charming four-story walk-up brownstone that dates all the way back to the early 1900s, and has a buzzer/intercom system for security. You will like this 380 sq ft (35 m²) apartment as it is situated on a nice residential, tree-lined street and offers both northern and eastern exposures.
The fully furnished apartment features hardwood floors, air conditioning throughout the unit, and classic fittings. The living room has a decorative fireplace and is furnished with a flat-screen cable TV, and sofas. It is adjacent to the open kitchen, which is fully equipped and features a dining table for two people. The bedroom has a double-size bed and built-in shelves with books. The bathroom features tiled floors and walls and is equipped with a bathtub/shower, washbasin, and WC. There is a closet with adequate space for storage.
The Upper West Side neighborhood is within close proximity of many attractions and offers easy access to the rest of Manhattan and other NYC boroughs. The closest subway station from the one bedroom apartment is 96 Street / Broadway (4 blocks), where you can catch the 1,2, and 3 trains. There are several eateries within close range, among them Alouette (2 blocks), a French bistro that offers a different experience each day of the week (i.e. Jazz on Tuesdays, Pasta Night on Thursdays), and Buceo 95 (5 blocks), with its Iberian cuisine, décor, and atmosphere that attracts Spaniards and locals alike! If you walk 5 blocks east, you’ll be at the New York landmark, Central Park, with its lakes, zoo, and cafes, or if you head 1 block west, you’ll be able to enjoy the lovely views of the Hudson River and the New Jersey skyline from Riverside Park. There are academic institutions nearby, like Columbia University in the adjacent neighborhood of Morningside Heights, and the City College of New York, a little further north, as well as Bard College and Fordham University. You can do some shopping at Columbus Circle (2.3 miles), go catch a performance at the Lincoln Center (1.9 miles / 3 km), or head to Museum Mile (1.5 miles / 2.4km) on the other side of the park, where you can visit the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Jewish Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, among others.

This apartment was the highlight of my 6 month stay in NYC. The brownstone building is beautiful, the street quiet and the location is phenomenal. Between Riverside Park and Central Park, a 15 min walk from a Trader Joe's, 5 minute walk to the 123 lines, the neighborhood residential, safe and filled with friendly people. Eddy, the super, is the best and always so quick and efficient to help. The apartment itself is the cutest, it is tiny but very cosy and sufficient. The furniture, like the bed and couch, are a bit old but comfortable. The apartment sleeps 4 but the double bed is quite small and the loft area is just two mattresses, so I would recommend for 1-2 persons to live here and then being able to host 2 more. The living room was my favorite, with big windows with green leaves before it. Bathroom is spacious and water pressure is great. Kitchen is small and lacks some amenities (like a blender) but was otherwise perfect for small meals. I felt immediately at home here and highly recommend renting it as a single or couple. |

I stayed in apt. 2F for a little over two months. I loved the apartment. It has everything you could possibly need and more. The layout is great and the lofted sleeping area is really nice to have. The beds are very comfortable! The location is perfect. Practically across the street from Riverside Park, which is a real treat, and just a block away from a great grocery market, Westside Market. And every kind of restaurant you could want, all within short walking distance. The neighborhood is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The owner is always available to answer any questions, give recommendations, and is so friendly and helpful. It's really a great place to stay in a beautiful part of New York. |

Great spot at the wonderful neighborhood Upper West Side! Close to both Riverside park, Hudson River and Central Park, which provided a lot of opportunities to be outdoors and enjoy all kinds of weather. The landlord was wonderful and always very helpful, and I would recommend anyone to stay here at anytime. Although the place was quite small, it was planned and built in a way that you fit more things than you first might have thought possible. Also, the landlord always did her best to help provide with things that might be missing. Over all a very good experience living here for four months! |
