This fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment is located on the 4th and top floor (3rd for Europeans) of a walk-up townhouse with security system in Harlem, Manhattan. The air-conditioned apartment has window guards, and there is a portable crib or cot available if needed. The rental has double exposure: northern exposure of gardens and a southern exposure of a typical New York tree-lined street.
The living room of the apartment features hardwood floors, an exposed brick wall and has three windows that look out on the street below as well as a lovely community garden across the street. The southern exposure means this room gets much natural light. A dining table that seats four stands close to the windows, which means you can enjoy lunch while soaking up some sun. The room also contains a queen-sized sofa bed which faces a flat-screen TV with cable. The renovated kitchen has marble countertops, a tiled backsplash, stainless steel appliances, and a convenient hatch to the living room that lets light stream through. The bathroom with terracotta-colored tiles can be found next to the kitchen. The bedroom of the apartment exudes a relaxing feel, with its hardwood floors, dark wood furniture such as a queen-sized bed and chandelier lighting. The bedroom also boasts a walk-in closet and three windows with a view of gardens below and Harlem rooftops.
You can find this one bedroom apartment at 132nd Street and Malcolm X Boulevard. There is a lovely New York City community garden right across the street from the apartment, filled with trees, flowers, benches and even a goldfish pond. All along Malcolm X Boulevard (also called Lenox Avenue) you will find grocery stores, shops and restaurants that serve the soul food Harlem is famous for. Sylvia's about 5 blocks south (500m) from the rental makes a mean chicken and waffles. Furthermore, the neighborhood is well-known for its gospel choirs, so be sure to visit one of the churches on a Sunday morning. If Jazz music is more to your liking, make your way down to 125th Street (.4mi or 650m) where you will find numerous lounges as well as the iconic Apollo Theater.
To easily commute downtown, you can catch a subway (2 and 3 lines) at 135th Street station just three blocks (about 300m) north of the apartment.

We stayed in this apartment for 4 months and had a great time. It is conveniently located near the subway one block and supermarket at the end of the street. Apartment was well appointed with everything we needed. Our host William was always available if we needed and very helpful. When we return again will always choose this place to stay. Thanks William had a great time. |
