Two fully furnished rooms for rent with private bathrooms are separately available in this historic 3-story townhouse located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. The rooms are located in an apartment on the top floor of a walk-up home. The rooms feature a modern décor, with renovated bathrooms and a shared kitchen.
Please note that both rooms are rented by the day or week as a B&B rental and by the month as a roommate share situation.
The main entrance to the building opens into the owner's first floor apartment, then you take the stairs immediately to the right to access the two guest bedrooms and shared kitchen. By climbing two flights of stairs, you reach the modern upstairs kitchen, which you will share with the occupant(s) of the other bedroom. The kitchen is open to the stairway, and is lined with hardwood floors, has ample cupboard and counter space, and is equipped with a four-burner stove (no oven), pots, pans and utensils. Two separate sets of dishes and two coffeemakers are available.
Both bedrooms feature exposed brick walls, dressers & closets, full-length mirrors, and TVs equipped with cable.
Bedroom #1 contains a double size bed, single size sofa bed, air conditioning and medium table & chairs. The room gets plenty of light from three windows with southern exposure towards the garden. The en-suite bathroom includes a tub-shower, toilet, mirrored medicine cabinet, and sink with a white vanity -- there is also a blow dryer.
Bedroom #2 is furnished with a king size bed, air conditioning, nightstands, and a rectangular table with chairs. An air mattress is available to accommodate an extra guest. This room also has a private bathroom with tiled floors and is equipped with a bathtub/shower, toilet, and washbasin with vanity (blow dryer available). Two windows allow in natural light. The room is located on the northern end of the apartment with the kitchen in between the two rooms.
WiFi internet access is available in both rooms. Fresh sheets and towels are provided upon request as often as needed. In addition, there are extra clean sheets and towels located in the bedroom closets for guests to use. You also have and iron and ironing board available, if needed. While rooms are spotless upon arrival, longer stays may require additional cleaning. Cleaning services are available for a small fee upon request. The living room, found on the lower level, is not available.
These two guest bedrooms are situated on 113th Street & Frederick Douglass Boulevard. The Morningside Heights neighborhood has become popular because of its classic townhouses and convenience to other areas of NYC, like Midtown and lower Manhattan. The B and C trains provide service along Central Park West to 8th Avenue and 6th Avenue; they are accessible from the Cathedral Parkway (110 Street) / Central Park West station, just 3 blocks south (about 300m). You can also enter the massive Central Park here, and Morningside Park is just half a block (75m) from the apartment! You can go shopping along Broadway or enjoy a picnic in a nearby park. The prestigious Columbia University is also within close proximity. Walk just one block east (300m) and you will find yourself in the adjacent neighborhood of Harlem, which has great soul food restaurants and jazz festivals!

I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast for its cleanliness, location, building and decoration. And most of all for the owners' kindness and discretion. |
