Room for Rent 3 Bedroom apartment in Brooklyn (NY-14534)
3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 1

The proximity of Prospect Park with all its activities and the easy access to Manhattan only 4 subway stops away make this three bedroom apartment in Brooklyn a great option for those looking for an apartment share in New York. This apartment is situated at Rutland Road & Rogers Avenue, on a beautiful street lined with trees and other typical townhouses from the turn of the century in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, a neighborhood east of Prospect Park. It occupies the 2nd floor of a walk-up two-family house equipped with a doorbell.

From this apartment you will have access to a private garden, furnished with a barbecue oven for outdoor cooking, round table and chairs, perfect to enjoy a meal under the sun in the summer months! The garden is shared with your roommates and owners of the house who live on the ground and first floors.

The large bay windows on each side of the apartment (in bedroom 1 and 3) not only add a luxurious feel to the rooms but also allow in plenty of natural light to brighten the space. They overlook the garden and the street respectively. Bedroom 1 has access to a private living room with a single sized sofa bed. The large bedroom 3 has the luxury of a semi separate living area furnished with a desk and sofa.

You and your roommates will share the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary items to cook including a gas stove.

Prospect Lefferts Gardens is a mainly residential neighborhood in the central part of Brooklyn. Around your apartment you will find basic commodities like supermarkets, pharmacies and a post office as well as the following places of interest:

- Prospect Park: an entrance to this huge park is located 0.7 miles (1.12 km) west. The park offers many outdoor activities with a lake, baseball fields, jogging paths and music concerts during warm months. Here you can also find the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

- Restaurants: for Caribbean food, head to Culpepper's (0.2mi/400m), one of Brooklyn's most beloved Barbadian restaurants. For burgers, ribs or drinks, head to Lincoln Road and Flatbush Avenue to Lincoln Park Tavern, a cool and relaxing hang-out spot after a day spent outdoors (0.4mi/650m).

Public transportation is also convenient: several blocks away there are 2 subway stations, Prospect Park / Empire Boulevard / Flatbush Avenue (0.5mi/750m) and Winthrop Street / Nostrand Avenue (0.5mi/750m). They are served by lines B, Q and 2, 5 respectively connecting you to the rest of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Line Q will take you to lower Manhattan in only 4 stops!

The owner was very welcoming, always reachable, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my stay. The room was very spacious, and the location was fantastic, with plenty of food options nearby, beautiful nature spots, and a quiet atmosphere. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Absolutely lovely stay here. Location is a bit rougher but still very safe in an up and coming neighborhood and a few bars opening up, though still quiet! Also really close to the subways and a few buses.

The host was so kind and felt like family. She really tried to make our home a community. Despite one roommate who wasn't particularly friendly or interested in interacting, the host definitely succeeded. I made a friend and I felt cozy here. Thank you, a million times over!

I stayed at Lauree's for 5 months and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. Lauree is extremely warm and welcoming, making you feel at home, which is really nice! Moreover, the room was very spacious and bright, and the apartment in very good general condition. I also really appreciated the special activities organized by Lauree, especially Thanksgiving. I have very good memories and I am grateful to have found this rental for a first stay in New York: it was ideal!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Bedroom 3 in this property and Lauree was a fantastic, helpful, reliable and very professional host!
The building is located on a beautiful tree-lined street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, within walking distance of Prospect Park. I had to go to downtown Manhattan for work every day and it was very easy to get there on the Subway (lines 2 and 5 from Winthrop street or multiple other lines from Prospect Park station). I felt safe and comfortable in the neighbourhood and there are plenty of grocery shops, drug stores, delis and diners and restaurants nearby. There are also several laundromats in walking distance.
Lauree's home is a beautiful and very well maintained turn of the century building. Bedroom 3 was the most beautiful room I ever rented! It was spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished with everything I needed (big bed, closet, big chest of drawers, two nightstands, couch, desk with chair, bookshelf, TV, reclining chair, beautiful decoration and bedsheets/linen) and I loved the big Bay windows, the beautiful wooden floor and the fact that there was a room divider so that I felt like I had a separate bedroom and living room. The shared kitchen was spacious and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need to prepare home cooked meals. The bathroom looked newly renovated and was kept very clean by the housekeeper who even exchanged the shower curtain frequently. The biweekly complimentary housekeeping/cleaning service was a blessing and my room was always left immaculately clean.
Lauree was a great and very professional host, who was always there to help and did everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible! She is also a very kind and generous person and it was a pleasure to meet her.
My friends and family whom I showed pictures of the room couldn't believe that I had found such a great place for such an affordable price!

I stayed in this apartment from April 2018- March 2019. I couldn't wish for a better apartment and a better landlord. The room was spacious and clean. My work was in Times Square and it was a 45-50 minute commute door to door. Very nice neighbourhood and near Prospect Park. Thank you Lauree for being the best landlord ever and thank you for your hospitality! And of course during Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's eve! I'm gonna miss you!

I lived in NYC for the first time. Thanks to the landlord, I had a great time there. She was very nice. When I have some problems, she tried to figure it out soon. Also, she invited us(roommates) to dinner some times. I had a good time. I really appreciate for her kindness.

I stayed in this house from September 2013 through December 2013, and the stay was much better than expected. The neighborhood is nice, the house is clean and equipped with everything you need, and above all, the landlady (hi Lauree!) is the best. She will do anything to make you feel at home in NYC. I can recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great first experience in NYC.

This was my first residence in NYC and the landlady made my experience a truly great one. She treats her home and all of her tenants with the utmost care and will do anything she can to make your time there the best it can be.

It's important to note that the smallest room (the room I lived in) doesn't contain windows or AC, so summers can be borderline unbearable but she does all she can to make the room comfortable. An incredibly affordable, clean, cozy place to live that can quickly begin to feel just like home :)

I stayed in this house for four months and everything went amazingly. It is situated just three blocks away from two major subway lines and yet it is in a quiet street. The room is beautiful with many useful elements (television, internet connection, big cupboards, a study desk, air conditioning...) and the kitchen is well-equipped (fridge, oven, gas rings, toaster, coffee machine and loads of utensils).

Over these months, the house was kept cool in the summer and warm as soon as the weather started to decline. The landlady was very nice and helpful. She has a cleaning lady come often. She also provides sheets and towels which is practical especially if your come from another country.

Overall, it was great.

The landlord was phenomenal and my stay was far above incredible. Fresh linens and housekeeping were provided along with further superior hospitality which enhanced the quality of my stay.

The subway is a few blocks away, but I enjoyed the brief walk due to the interactions with the very friendly neighbors and the people of the community in general. The landlord truly does foster a great environment to dwell in.
