With this room for rent you will be sharing the 2600 sqf (240 m²) house spanning three floors! Bedroom 1 is located on the 3rd American floor (2nd European floor), and spans approximately 204sqft (19sqm). Lined with hardwood floors, it is designed with a unique slanted wall and white molding over blue-hued paint. Amenities include a queen bed, antique-inspired desk with chair, antique sofa, and a closet for item storage. There is a second closet on the 3rd floor that is also available for your private use. The accommodation offers a private bathroom not shared with the other tenants, decorated with sunny yellow walls and equipped with a round vintage tub with handheld showerhead. Sunlight filters into the top floor through the window in the bedroom and a skylight in the hallway. Bedroom 2 on the 2nd floor (1st European floor) offers a double bed and closet for storage. The bathroom on that floor is shared with the 3rd bedroom, occupied by the owner of this apartment.

The 1st American floor (ground floor in Europe) is shared with all the tenants. Decorated with antique accessories, the space offers valuable prewar qualities: a stately fully functional fireplace, high ceilings, and exposed brick walls. Bay windows in the shared living room light up the space with midday sun, and vintage accessories (think: traditional area rugs, antique furniture, bohemian wall art) lend the home a warm and inviting ambiance. A television with DVD player is provided. From the living room, tenants can access the dining room (living room 2), which is equipped with a glass table for up to eight guests. A doorway here leads to the kitchen, fully stocked with essential cooking appliances and a dishwasher for added convenience.

There is a door in the kitchen that leads to the shared garden area and patio. The garden offers lovely greenery and a patio table and chairs for meals al fresco.

This is truly a home away from home. The owner is a wonderful person who loves to share her vast knowledge of NYC and of Brooklyn in particular and makes you feel very welcome in her lovely house. We stayed at the room on the top floor with our own bathroom, which was very nice. One of the highlights was the terrace in the back, where we had breakfast or a coffee in the afternoon. The house is situated on a quiet little dead-end street, but very close to a subway station and two bus stopps and shopping and restaurants are just a short walk away. We would definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay in this apartment. The landlady was very nice. She gave us some advice about where to go, it really felt like home. We would come back there if we ever came back to New York.
