Harlem is known for its historic houses and many more attractions. You can visit the Hamilton Grange, at 141st Street and Convent Avenue, which was the country home of Alexander Hamilton, the first U.S. Secretary of Treasury, who lived there in the final years of his life, before he was killed in a duel by U.S. Vice-President, Aaron Burr. Also the Jumel Mansion, Manhattan's oldest house, is located one mile (1.6 km) north on 160th Street.
For public transportation you can use the 3 train at the 148 Street / 7 Avenue : Harlem station. It offers express service to lower Manhattan all the way to Brooklyn and goes north to the Bronx.
