Situated off of 16th Street and 7th Avenue, the apartment is on the 4th floor (considered 3rd in Europe) of a 4-story low-rise walk-up building in an ideal locale between three subway stations. A security system is in place throughout the residence to ensure privacy for the residents.
Imagine yourself relaxing in a private bedroom, cozy and furnished, with the Chelsea streets just outside your building door! This room has a twin-sized bed, air conditioning unit, and two windows for air circulation. These windows look towards a neighboring building over an interior courtyard. Additionally, you will find other living amenities such as a dresser with drawers for storage space, cable television, hanging rack for clothes, and artwork on the wall providing a laid-back ambiance. For additional light and circulation, a ceiling fan hangs in the center of the room. This will serve as your own living space, separate from the rest of the shared apartment.
The lively shared living room provides a quirky and welcoming environment. Here, a leather sofa sits facing a cable television, also available for use. An elegant area rug is placed atop wood flooring, and various pictures decorate the walls creating a homey feeling. On one side of the wall, a window with deep red curtains allows fresh air to ventilate the living space. Here you can settle down and catch up with your roommate! The separate and shared kitchen contains most cooking necessities such as a freezer, coffeemaker, oven, microwave, toaster, and fridge. The tiled shared bathroom supplies a shower/bathtub, and mirror above the sink.

The location is great and provides easy commute. The apartment isn't clean by any stretch of the imagination and bugs in the kitchen aren't uncommon. Also the dog isn't really house trained so if she gets out of the owner's bedroom, there's a chance she may leave a little present around. |

Thank you for your honest review, Samantha. It is unfortunate to hear that you encountered these conditions during your stay. Upon reading your review, an inspection was made on the apartment, which deemed it clean. Indeed a dog is living in the apartment and like all the apartments with pets, it is possible that some droppings are left once in a while. |

I had an incredibly sweet roommate. She did have guests visit rather late at night(early in the morning around 3-4 am) on work nights, but other than that she was very accommodating. She doesn't allow you to use the kitchen and the heater and AC both incredibly loud and bothersome noise, which can make it difficult to sleep. |

I am very happy with the apartment I found through New York Habitat. I am still living there. |

Everything in my NYC experience was good, also the apartment and the owner. Actually I have to say that the room was good for a short period (like my 3 months), I don't think that could be ok for a longer staying... But everything was fine: [my roommate] was a very good friend and the neighborhood was really nice, safe and not noisy. |
