This 145m² (approx. 1,560 sq. ft.) three bedroom furnished apartment is situated in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood in Paris. It is located on the second floor (considered 3rd by Americans) of a 17th century, well-maintained walk-up building with digicode and lobby attendant. The main entrance gate opens into a corridor leading to a paved courtyard decorated with natural plants.
This spacious apartment features a living room and a separate dining area, both lined with hardwood floors, ceiling moldings and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the courtyard.
You will love the elegant furnishing of the living room, which has two sofas and a large mirror above the decorative fireplace. The reception area is furnished with a dining table sitting six people and a bar with stools so you will have plenty of seats when organizing receptions! The modern kitchen - which can be separated from the dining area by wooden shutters - is equipped with all the necessities for cooking at home, including a dishwasher, toaster and kettle. Bedroom #1 is furnished with a queen-size bed, a window offering a view on the courtyard, built-in closets and a chest of drawers for storage. A phone is also available. The spacious and comfortable 30m² (approx. 320 sq. ft.) suite bedroom # 2 can be split in two distinct rooms by sliding doors: a second living room equipped with a phone, flat screen cable TV, and built-in home theater system for your entertainment; and a double bedroom. The French door provides access to a private terrace. Bedroom #3 is furnished with a trundle bed and a chest of drawers.The apartment also features an office with a large bay window. The two modern bathrooms are furnished with a bathtub and a separate shower, as well as a towel drying rack.
This furnished apartment is located on Rue Jacob between rue Bonaparte and rue de Seine, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, one of the most attractive and historic districts of the Seine River's Left Bank. You will find a number of select restaurants and historic cafes such as Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore, favorite haunts of famous French existentialists and expatriated American writers. Just beside this area is the new Marché Saint-Germain Des Pres (fashion market) and a few steps away Rue de Buci features a special atmosphere with its open-air market.
Located less than a mile away, the Luxembourg Gardens is the ideal spot to sit and read, relax or participate in the numerous organized activities including tennis, pony rides or toy sailboat rental.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is St. Germain des Prés and is located on Boulevard Saint-Germain, about two blocks from the apartment. From there you catch the M4 that will take you directly to the heart of St. Michel in the Latin Quarter of Paris. Additionally the Mabillon metro stop on Rue du Four serves lines 2 and 4.

The apartment was better than my expectations. The landlady was gracious and returned my deposit promptly and fairly. It was magnificent Parisian living at its best. Better than a 5 star hotel. |
