The 3-bedroom duplex apartment on Rue de Montmorency sits on the ground and 1st floors of a 4-story (French floors) walk-up 18th century building with built-in security system. If offers 3 bedrooms for rent and a private living room, kitchen as well as private bathrooms.

This extravagant Parisian abode features hardwood floors, exposed brick, exposed wood beams, and high ceilings. Large, almost floor-to-ceiling windows in each room except bathrooms allow midday sun to saturate the brightly accessorized home. Finding a place in central Paris that will accomodate a large group can be a challenge unless you are willing to pay a substantial amount. Given that context the apartment we rented met our needs; it was exceptionally well located, it was reasonably priced, comfortable enough, mostly quiet and afforded space and privacy. Moreover, the petit patio was simply lovely. Finally, the accommodation owner is a wonderful, reserved gentleman who was everything you could hope for when renting a vacation place.

Part of the reason we love Paris is to shop for food and cook at the end of a busy day exploring the city. The kitchen was simply not up to the task, even allowing for the realities of rental spaces it was quite poor. In the end we ate out more than we planned. I also have to say that the place could have done with a serious cleaning; it wasn't disagreeable at all, and maybe I'm being a picky, neurotic North American but there is room for improvement. Finally, there were some little things that were kind of annoying, like no toilet paper roll holders in the bathroom... and what's with every room having internal windows with no privacy drapes (we were family mostly so it was ok, but it could be awkward)

In balance it was a good place for the money and again, its location was superb. Were I to return to Paris with a large group again, I would not hesitate to rent it.

Thank you for your comments, Clement told be about what should be taken care off, as for internal curtains and toilet paper box, of course for cleaning I will maintain the attention, and for the kitchen of course it could be rebuild in a modern way.

The location was fantastic. There was plenty of space for all 8 of us, 2 of which were children. The furnishing were adequate and a bakery 1/2 block away was a real treat. The furnishing were early Berkeley, CA eclectic, but worked. There are only 2 toilets, but everyone cooperated so it worked.

The on demand hot water was a bit of of challenge, but we managed. It would really help if the shower head in the bath tub were mounted on a pole.

It rained most all the time so we did not use the outside areas. One family found the foutons not the most comfortable to sleep upon. However, if we ever do this again We'd we happy to stay here again.

The apartment suited our needs very well. It was in a great location and had a unique and welcoming feel to it. Petrice, the owner, was extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. We would certainly be happy to stay at the apartment again.

Only reservations concern noise late at night and early in the morning from other residents of the building (about which neither you nor Patrice can do anything).

Otherwise we were extremely happy with the rental experience.

We enjoyed our stay at this Beaubourg, Paris apartment. It has a very eclectic design and the younger family members liked that. It comfortably accommodated 9 people and the only challenge was scheduling the bathroom time with only 2 bathrooms.

The unit is only a block from the underground and we were able to see everything we wanted by using it.

The owner and I communicated by e-mail and a couple of times by phone before we arrived because I had some questions. He was very helpful. His wife is the co-owner and she greeted us and handed over the keys the day we arrived and came back the day we left to pick-up the keys and look the place over.

We would stay here again.
