Its location near the heart of the city in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris and the numerous forms of transport in the vicinity are what make this vacation rental perfect for travelers looking to get around Paris easily. Combining bustling commercial areas with quiet residential streets, this neighborhood is rich in history, and often referred to as "Temple" after the medieval fortress that once stood in the area. This one bedroom apartment is situated on the 5th floor (considered the 6th floor by Americans) of a 6-story walk-up building from the 18th century. The main entrance gate is protected by a digicode and opens into a pleasant paved courtyard.
The apartment is entirely lined with hardwood floors, contrasting with the white walls for an elegant and minimalist look. There are two full size sofa-beds in this apartment, providing sleeping accommodation. The living room is equipped with a flat screen TV and a converting coffee-to-dinner white lacquered table giving the room an ultra modern look! The desk in the bedroom is also space-saving, by folding into the wall. The kitchen has most appliances that you might need to prepare your breakfast and meals at home, and also has the convenience of a washing machine. The all-white modern bathroom has a shower screened by a glass door.
You will find this vacation rental in the Place de la Republique area, near the intersection of Rue Dupetit-Thouars & Rue Paul Dubois, on a quiet residential street. There is a grocery store right around the corner if you wish to cook at home, and if you don't there, are many restaurants around the area. The places of interest that are within walking distance to your accommodation include:
- Square du Temple : walk only one street down and you will find this garden, which was formerly home to the tower where Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI and their son were imprisoned. Today its large grassy area is a favorite spot for picnics and lunches on a sunny day!
- Place De La Republique : 450 meters (0.27 miles) to the opposite direction is one of the biggest and busiest squares in Paris, hosting the statue of the Republic. The square is surrounded by many cafés and restaurants. One of them, Chez Jenny is a renowned Alsatian restaurant. The menu features traditional French dishes but you really want to go to Jenny for its Alsatian specialties such as their flammekueche.
- Marché des Enfants Rouges : this covered market is an ideal spot for lunch. Here you can buy freshly cooked dishes from French to Italian or Moroccan. You can also pick up fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers, and of course some traditional food items such as charcuterie, wine and cheese. Create a charcuterie and cheese plate and enjoy it at the park!
- Le Marais : reserve at least a half-day of exploration for Le Marais, bordering the République area to the south. It is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Paris and has become a center of Parisian artistic and cultural life. Walk down the narrow and paved streets and admire the architectural styles of Medieval Paris!
The nearest subway station is Temple, served by line 3. Take it for one stop or walk 400 meters to the République station, a transportation center linking five metro lines as well as buses and taxis. Here you will also find several Vélib public bike stations: rent a bike, return it where you like and discover some hidden areas you would have missed if you took the metro. That way you won't miss a thing the City of light has to offer!

Staying here was an exceptional experience for my sister and I, first time visitors to Paris. It is well located in the Marais, walking distance to the Metro and several of the city's major attractions. |

This sweet little apartment worked out so well for our family's 1 week stay in Paris. The location is excellent- just a quick walk to the metro, bakery, grocery, restaurants, market. It's on the 6th floor (no elevator) and very compact, but is super clean, modern, with nice amenities. |
