You can rent bicycles in Saint-Rémy (route de Cavaillon) or discover the Alpilles horseback riding. An equestrian center in Saint-Rémy organizes tours during summertime. The local market of Saint-Rémy is on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the main street going all around the village.
The famous ruins of Glanum are nearby : an archeological site from the first century BC. It’s definitely worth a look. For paintings lovers, the hospital where Vincent Van Gogh stayed (Cloître Saint-Paul) is also a good excursion for the day. You may even recognize one of the landscapes he drew while he was there.
The closest highway is the A7, exit Cavaillon, 20 minutes drive away, that goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France.
The closest train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes !
The closest airport is Avignon as well with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

The apartment was amazing - it was more like a house with everything one would need. The outdoor courtyard and pool and beautiful gardens made our stay extra special. The owners were very helpful and kind and we spent a lovely evening with them. |

Thank you for your comments Dolores. We usually enclose a map when we send the agreement to each of our guests. The map helps find the street more easily. |

We want to let you know how much we enjoyed the apartment in St. Remy de Provence (Ref.#PR174) from Oct. 17-24, 2009. It was well-furnished, beautiful, and within a very short walk to the village center. The owners [of the accommodation] were charming and helpful and made us feel like we were guests in their home. Having lived in Europe for several years, we recognize a gem of a place to spend a week, or longer. Our only advice is to get explicit directions to the apartment in advance as it is behind a wall and steel security gate on a small back street and difficult to find but well worth the trouble! |

The apartment that my friend and I rented in Saint Remy exceeded my expectations! The apartment itself is lovelier than the photos show and it is extremely well equipped and well appointed. The large garden and pool are beautiful with flowering plants and trees of all kinds. The location is perfect with just about a two block walk to the center of town. In addition, the owners of the apartment, who live upstairs with a separate entrance, are extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful, without being at all intrusive. |

Thought the apartment [in Saint Rémy de Provence was] pretty and good value. The family was quite nice, and the cats added to our pleasure! |

[...] The apartment was exactly as pictured [...] The owners were extremely helpful in many ways[...] The entire property is walled and we felt very safe both in the apartment and walking to and from dinner. We would go back and stay at this property in a heartbeat. |
